I recommend taking hip hop and/or salsa classes and music theory. The classes with hopefully help you get a groove and rhythm. The music theory class will help you understand the music itself, this is optional since you aren't looking to become a professional or whatever. Salsa will definitely help with controlling footwork and being able to get your hips moving! The hips are probably the biggest problem for guys when it comes to dancing.

But if you can Dougie you are fine, this dance is so simple yet so effective because it is 1. Well-known 2. Very lively and fun looking 3. Girls will definitely compliment you on your dancing. I just hit the Dougie with some of my own moves and bam DHV. Hope this tutorial helps.

I enjoy swing dancing and I've found that girls love it. I just had a friend who was really good teach me one night at a party. Only took me an hour to get the hang of it, and it works wonders. It's super easy and girls love it when you throw them around.

Swing and salsa dance classes have lots of free sessions for beginners and you can usually learn in one lesson! they're easy and awesome.

Kizomba nad blues dancing are awesome; both are relatively easy lo learn, but look very sexy/sensual, and help you build your kino'ing skills.

In my opinion, it takes between 5 to 10 lessons (1-2months) to learn enough to look impressive for the non-dancing muggles.

i agree with Adrxone, salsa classes will do the trick! specially around the area there are really cheap. There are groupon offers pretty often that are worth checking out!

just count the snare drum, count to four. the snare drum is the one that is consistent. every time the snare drum hits, move something, like step to the left, then step to the right on the next snare. think of different ways to move your body at each snare.

so every four snare hits, repeat the movements, like left right left right. and get into that rhythm. after you get used to that, you will notice that every sixteen snares, the melody will change or the rhythm will change or the song will be different somehow. learn to predict these changes, and then move your body in a different way every sixteen snares.

after a while your body will just move to the beat without having to think about it. hope that helps.
