It's not only a good place for it, it's the best place for it. There's nowhere more filled with positive energy and happiness than a wedding. It's socially acceptable to "open" anybody, and you'll receive absolutely no resistance when talking to strangers. I'm pretty sure I've hooked up at 80% of weddings and engagement parties I've been to. Sometimes you can even pull a bartender or cocktail waitress (true story).

I was in a buddy's wedding party and I asked a girl I knew to go with me as my escort/date/whatever/don't remember the term I used. We hooked up and she ended up being my GF for a few years.

There's nothing inherently disrespectful about picking up on girls at weddings. Just be sure that you qualify properly to make sure the two of you are after the same things, or else your courting a lot of drama. (Because some girls get all emotional at weddings.....)

Weddings are fucking fantastic... Hands down gold mines. However, be careful not to drink... I had to learn this the hard way. The hot girls I was flirting with early in the night were much less interested once I was slurring my words.

Only challenge I've run into is that your target's parents/siblings will likely be there too. If the target is in her early 20's, the parents may still be very protective. I ran into this just within the last couple weeks. Girl was crazy into me, but I had no choice but to back off.

As an Indian, Punjabi to be specific, weddings are impossible for this. Punjabi weddings have waaaaaay too many strict uncles who hate all this stuff. I didn't go to my first non-Punjabi wedding/reception until I was 23 and the atmosphere is a lot different. What people have said in the thread so far is what I felt from it too. GL
