Question for you: Why are you waiting for IOIs? Just assume attraction and go.

When in doubt, walk over and say "Hi. How are you?" Even with crippling AA, I'm sure you can muster those four words, right?

Also try to talk to strangers everywhere you go. Not just hot girls, but EVERYONE. Your grocer, your butcher, your mailman, the guy at the coffee shop... Get in the habit of talking to strangers.

You can do it, trust me!

Here's something about conversations for you: statement & question. This is a golden rule that will build you lots of rapport. For example:

Her: I like dogs.

him: That's awesome! I used to have a dog, myself. It was practically a human being. What kind of dogs do you like?

Her: My dog was a [enter race here]

Him: I don't think I've heard of that kind, how does it look like? / Oh, you had one of those! [race] is a pretty nice breed, indeed! What's your fondest memory of your time with that dog?

Remember, when you talk with people, especially with hot girls, people will remember two things: the first impression you made ("At first you seemed closed off / open / fun / whatever") and the feeling you left them with. You want to leave people on a high note and feeling good. If not, if you try to number close a girl after talking about a sad subject, she will think "Aw, that's so sad for him." and then associate that negative feeling with you.

Oh man, trains are the easiest! And usually the most fun, because you have to find a decent-looking girl, sit next to her, and then if she ends up being not-too-special you're basically forced to stay there anyway. It's good for practice, and most people are decent human beings, so it's usually worth it.

You just sit next to the girl and say "How's it goin?" Easiest opener in the world. Then you might ask where she's going (if you don't know), and she'll probably ask you, and that kind of shit will naturally lead to more shit. At that point you can just pretend she's a friend and talk to her the same way you would to a friend.

Tease her, exchange humorous anecdotes and shit, tease her some more, build some rapport/comfort by talking about common interests, tease her a bit more, try to do some kino throughout all this, build a deeper level of understanding through emotions (if she mentions family or some shit, and tells a story, you ask her how it made her feel), you try to find out who she really is, and then of course you tease her a bit more.

What you do after that point is up to you- just like gyms, trains have social stigmas attached: if you make her uncomfortable, you put her (and yourself) in a bad spot. So if there's one time to take it a bit slower, it's on a train. But if she seems to be into you, you can easily be making out before long. I've done it on the bus, I've done it on a train, but I haven't done it on a plane (and planes are shit, because unless you take them all the time or you get lucky, there's a really good chance you won't be sitting next to an attractive woman- or even a woman at all. Though you can still have a good convo with a guy).

If you want to make it easier on yourself, you have to think "I kinda want to find out more about this girl." Then when you start talking to her, all you're doing is finding out more about her. You don't have to think of anything scripted- you don't have to think of shit while you're doing it. When you're good enough at that, then you can start thinking about how to be high-value, which for me usually means I'm more ambiguous about my interest. I don't really need to hear her story, so I might divert my attention and just enjoy the environment and myself while she's talking. We'll engage in some mutual silences and build the tension. The conversation starts to get a bit more intimate. Then (if I haven't already- usually I do this from the start), I'll get closer to her, and usually our bodies will be touching. Then all you gotta do is go for the kiss when you're feeling the vibe.

I'm struggling with this as well, particularly when a girl gives me an invitation to approach (a smile, or pausing where she shouldn't pause as though waiting for me). I think that a 1-second rule is warranted in these situations--if I wait 3 seconds I've lost. What I'm trying to do is just say "Hi", before I've even thought of anything else to say.

My other thought is that if I do more general approaches, it will be more of a habit to respond to invitations. Something else I do is try to tell myself that I'm always gaming (or just that I'm the type of person that says hi to girls). That way I'm in a proper mindset if a girl smiles at me, or if I see someone I think I should approach.

In a coffeeshop, my solution to AA was to summon the resolve and just start walking towards her. Once you're onboard, you're not getting off.

In general AA is that stupid fucking Woody Allen voice in your head rattling away at everything that could go wrong. Just breathe out, and use that little bit of silence to assess how you feel. Probably nervous as hell. Great, now go talk to her while that Woody Allen voice has stopped talking.

Another trick is just to talk to EVERYONE. The barrista at the coffee shop, a stranger at the bus stop. Bullshit with EVERYONE. Then the fact of her being a pretty lady won't matter as much.
