TL;DR – When a HB asks you a question do you answer it directly or are you more evasive?

When you are chatting to a HB how do you deal with the more innocuous questions, such as "Where are you from?" or "What do you do for a living?" Would you answer them directly or be more evasive.

There seems to be conflicting information in the PUA literature about answering a HB's questions. If a HB is asking you questions in the first place it shows clear IOI and some PUA's suggest that you should answer their questions. They argue that the longer you are the subject of conversation the better and besides being evasive may give off the impression that you are ashamed to answer the question.

On the other hand, other PUA's say that you should never give a woman something for nothing. They argue that you should never give a woman what she wants, which in this case is a direct answer. It shows that you are the one in control.

To be clear, I am not referring to shit tests. I understand if she is shit testing you it is best not to answer directly or even just ignore the question.

Do you have a preference for the two approaches or do you tend to mix it up? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
