It will be a form of desensitisation in terms of talking to strange women and dating situations. Where else can you have around ten in real life dates on one day? You might as well get to know someone interesting. But it will not cure your approach anxiety.

It will not chain you to your phone/computer like online-dating, it is less artificial and you will lose less money.

Do it! It will be an interesting experience in any case and give you an interesting story to tell.

I did speed dating once. It was a bust for me but I think I chose the wrong place (was kind of a niche bar and I was on the upper age of the age range so many people were a lot younger than me).

It’s a fun experience and helps you get good with conversation. It’s exhausting though
