I would only add that meditation helps create the value of our sensations. If you practice thinking of the future, you will tend to think of the future. If you practice thinking in the present, you will tend to think in the present.

Thanks for posting this video OP. It was definitely worth hearing the whole thing all the way through. It reminds me a lot of The Secret but it's presented to us in a much more realistic way, over The Secret's hocus pocus approach.

This is what the core of this subreddit is about and i think this deserves to be on the side bar.

Admirable I guess, but one thing annoys me about this video.

He measures success in dollar bills. All the examples of goals he gives are things like 'become rich' or 'be a better salesman'. I feel kind of sorry for those whose only goal in life is to have a lot of money in the bank. We all know that money doesn't buy you happiness.

Of course, this is more of a problem with the way that society measures success. We vilify those who don't have a penny to their name, but what of their achievements that don't let them earn money? Perhaps they're amazing undiscovered painters like Van Gogh was? Perhaps they spend all their time volunteering to help the homeless? Perhaps they live their lives traveling, living hand-to-mouth but seeing the great mysteries and beauties of the world. Perhaps they simply bring enjoyment to others.

These are the kinds of people who are, in my eyes, truly successful. These are the people who have lived the most fulfilling lives. Their aims and goals don't revolve around material gains. Instead, they focus on fulfilment of the mind and soul.

I'm to disputing the point of 'believe it and you shall become it', don't get me wrong, only the examples he gives that are, I believe, victims of a capitalist society that values money over true happiness.
