Tips on going out solo

I've been going out by myself since I've been old enough to go out. I've hardly ever rolled to the club with friends and the friends I did go with were people I met at the club. I'm 28

It's all just about getting into a rhythm. The first night you're gonna suck, be stuck in your head at times, and let girls pass you, and end up with one phone number for the night. And each night you're gonna get a little better DEPENDING on how many women you actually approach. Your brain thinks approaching girls alone is scary, you just have to approach women until your brain goes "well she walked off n it was a little awkward but..... This actually isn't that bad".

My advice would be to NOT drink or hold yourself to a one drink maximum. Have a shot, and just drink soda the rest of the night. I used to walk around clubs with water hitting on women. Alcohol may make you feel a little cooler but it isn't going to improve your game. You need to be able to react QUICKLY without thinking. When a girl hurries by you (women walk so fucking fast for some reason idgi) or when a girl shit tests you or something comes up where you need to act, you don't want alcohol slowing down your thinking/acting. Let the girls get drunk. You'll feel a lot more accomplished if you go out sober and hit on good number of hot girls and go home by yourself than if you're drunk af, getting rejected and stumbling home. Trust me.

Also: talk to everyone. Talk to the bouncer. Talk to the two dudes smoking a cig (asking for a cig is a good way to start talking to people). Talk to the girl that's not that hot but said something interesting. Talk to the guy who seems a bit nervous and encourage HIM to go holler at some girls. Be his wingman. Talk outside the club. Inside is like texting women, they do not want to talk, they just want you to make them feel good.

If you're out and not really taking action, take more action. If you find yourself taking hella action and trying a little too hard to make things work, learn to lay back a little bit.

It honestly isn't as strange as people make it out to be. Every night I'd go out, I'd go by myself, and make friends at the club. Laugh at yourself and all the mistakes you're gonna make. Do not take the night so seriously.

Also: get rejected. Go out with the goal of getting rejected. That means when you see that girl there, but things may not seem perfect because she's doing whatever, you won't rationalize a reason to not approach her. No, you're going to approach her because you want her to tell you "No"

I’m a very adventurous person and I’ve realized recently that if I keep waiting for other people to do stuff with I’ll never leave my house. I’ve just started doing whatever I want and honestly I’ve made more friends that way than I ever did before trying to make friends. No luck yet with girls but I am willing to bet that this attitude will definitely help with that as well. If you got stuff you want to do just go do it.

I’m in the same situation. I use to go out solo but just to grab something at the store, but recently I’ve stepped it up.

I decided to pick out a coffee shop and make it my reading spot. I’m not a reader AT ALL, but I decided I’d try to maybe find some books I’d be genuinely interested in. I ended up finding a book on traveling solo, another on living alone, and another on music management and promoting.

I’ve finished 2 books at this coffee shop, and have 2 more on the way. Another thing I started to do is seeing movies solo. This is by far the best thing I’ve ever done for my self confidence. At first you might be a little nervous, but after that, it’s easy street. I’ve seen 4 movies solo (I’m not a big movie person so it’s not often that I wanna go) and on certain nights, most theatres do 40% off tickets. I tend to see a movie at night, and after it’s been out for a week so I have the place to myself.

The good thing about going out solo is that you're forced to talk with people. When I went out in a group I would just talk with my friends and look around the room. At the end of the night I would wonder why I hadn't met anyone.

My tip would be to go to places where people are looking to meet other people. I had better luck at those type of events over weekend nights at the bar.
