There's a huge misconception about what flirting is. Some in the seduction community would say that It only qualifies as flirting if you've gotten sexual in some way.

Actually, flirting is just be playful. That's it. Not taking yourself or the situation seriously.

Touching on the arm isn’t flirting, unless you are deliberately caressing her arm.

Any kind of touch or physical contact falls under the category of physical escalation.

Any of that gives her a chance to respond and give you feedback, which lets you know whether you should be moving further up the escalation ladder, so to speak.

And any kind of physical escalation could easily be playful, which falls under being flirty.

Eye contact isn’t actually flirting unless you are biting your lips in a sexually suggestive way, and looking her up and down as if appreciating her body.

Eye contact comes in a lot of flavors according to what facial expressions, gestures, or body language come with it.

Biting your lip or looking her up and down are things that would fall under the category of more advanced, because it's really easy to unintentionally come off desperate, forced, or humorously over the top if you try these.

This is a two common misconception: physical escalation is touch.

Too many guys out there don't know how to navigate physical escalation successfully and so try to talk their way to the bedroom. Which completely neglects the necessary physical escalation. And yes resorting to words to try and escalate, can come off autistic.
There are also some more advanced guys who can already get laid reliably. Some of these guys choose to make things more interesting for themselves by upping the difficulty level unnecessarily. Trying to take chances with more sexual rhetoric is one form of risk taking they may engage in. But it's completely unnecessary.

You can get to the bedroom without ever talking sexually. The important thing is that you physically escalate and make things sexual that way. Through actions.
