I ran into a girl I haven’t seen in about 10 years at a club last night and now I’m probably overanalyzing it. I recognized her, tapped her back and said hey, and we did a soft hug that lasted a few seconds not full contact, but not distant either. We were standing close in that hug/stance for a bit while trying to talk over the music. It didn’t feel rushed, but it also wasn’t some dramatic moment. Then she asked if I follow her on Instagram, I said no, and she gave me her handle. I was a little drunk and my thumb was shaking slightly while typing it in, which I’m now weirdly self-conscious about. I followed her, but it’s noon the next day and she hasn’t followed me back. I’m trying to be objective and figure out if this sounds like mild interest, just polite nostalgia, or if I’m overthinking a completely normal interaction.
