Personal opinion here, camping is a commitment for anyone, even enthusiasts. It takes planning and is quite intimate, so, it’s a high bar for a first hang out/date.

She also didn’t verify that she’s even going, so, don’t expect it. Just make other plans with other people and see if she hits you up. Then, you’ll have an answer.

If she does hit you up last minute, but, clearly not invested into going camping, just go anywhere and say you thought you two were camping out at McDonals or some shit, to you know, hunt for those French fries - make a joke of it.

Don’t bring up the camping thing again unless she specifically asks about it and seems to genuinely want to go camping (which I 100% doubt will happen).

In my experience a maybe is almost always a no. Good chance she's saying that so she can flake on the camping if she doesn't feel like it when the day comes.

As far as I know there's nothing you can do about this other than making your dates "concrete," as in a specific day/time instead of "later this week" or something like that. Sounds like you did the right thing in that respect. From what you wrote though it didn't sound like you actually had real plans, especially if the camping thing is an inside joke.

Is super wishy washy and low confidence. Like you're unsure of yourself almost if you're going camping. Like you depend on her to say yes so you have something to do. You should try to be more fun man.
Maybe something like

Camping this Saturday. I'm gonna go for it. Join up if you get the chance.

Takes the pressure off her. If she wants to join up then she'll ask for details. If not then it's all good.

Maybe it doesn't even matter and she would have been a maybe regardless, but still a good idea to fix that for future conversations.

It's a lot of pressure. I only invite girls to do things it seems like I'm going to do regardless. Framing is so important. People are lazy by nature, never underestimate that shit.

Maybe I don't understand but a girl you barely know is supposed to go up a mountain with you? This is how Law and Order SVU Episodes begin....not trying to be mean or anything.

First Date - KISS Keep it simple s.....

Make sure there is a specific: a) opening in their schedule b) time c) place (probably public at first then try to iso)

Try to minimize their ability to flake...
