Meditation and NoFap are for sure the best things I learnt this year. PUA is all about being present and self aware, and this two techniques are great first steps towards self development.

No matter how much you read from our sub, read books, and watch videos, you won't get anywhere until you actually start approaching.

It took me a long while to realize I need to train my social "muscle" before I start actually picking up women.

I learned not to play hard-to-get, not to "keep her guessing" and not to play stupid seduction games like push-pull or negging. I gained this revelation from the works of Robert Glover who wrote No More Mr Nice Guy who advocates being brutally honest and direct.

I used to think you have to fuck with a women's head to keep her interest. But I've realized it has harmed more than helped for four main reasons...

Your hot and cold comes off as wishy-washy, which is a sign of low-confidence which in turn repulses women. Confident guys know what they want and go directly for it.
If you play games, the girl usually plays some of her own. It then becomes a futile battle of egos.
If you have to play games and run PUA routines and lines, it shows a need to hide behind a mask. Knowing you're not good enough will destroy your inner game.
There's such thing as reciprocal liking. If you tell her you like her (and act it), it improves the chances she'll do the same.

Honesty is really the best policy. Seduction works best when what you say, what you do and how you feel are all in unison.

I've learned why the "nice guy" mentality I adopted over the past couple years hasn't gotten me laid and just comes off needy af. I learned that the more I work on myself (health,wealth, etc.) the more confident I feel when it comes to women and that it will get easier over time if I put the effort in at first. Went from very bad social skills and being able to easily converse with strangers and make friends. I've even built up enough confidence to approach for my first time today (something I didn't think I would ever have the guts to do) and had a positive reaction even though I backed out really early out of fear but instead of beating myself up about it I realized it was a learning experience and is something I'm actually looking forward to continue to work on.

I learned fuck all. 2016 was supposed to be the year to change everything in my life but it turned out to be the worst year so far. I have severe depression. I'm still trying NoFap and managed to get 40 days but I didn't feel any difference. I will keep trying tho. The only thing I learned is that I need to get things into practice, but I still need to learn about doing it.

Specifically regarding seduction:

You can step outside your safe zones and take some chances.

Rejection is not a big deal.

So many things. From making conversations with women from chit-chat and exchanging of information to really making it man-to-woman and also to make moves. To grab her hand, to go for the kiss, to state your intent.

But one of the best advices I've read is the following: "The key for the man is to adopt a posture of blase emotional distance alternated with loving tenderness. Too much of either and she’ll run off." Learn to control your emotions men, and you're at least half way there.

Really learned to adopt the abundance mentality. There are lots of other good looking girls out there, and lots of other girls that are interesting/interested. Helps to not put any one girl up on a pedestal
