I’ve been seriously working on my game the last few weeks, and one of the things that stood out to me the most in “Models” by Mark Manson was the concept of incremental exposure: trying smaller, “zero-stakes” kind of approaches until you’re more comfortable with full on cold approaching. He mentioned asking girls for the time, which is obviously kinda outdated because everyone has their phone on them nowadays, but I actually went to the mall and did this. I asked about 6 girls (most of them employees/clerks) if they could tell me what time it is, I also tried to throw in a compliment and tell them that my phone died (hence why idk the time). I went to the mall at around noon on a Friday which turned out to be a bad time, there were hardly any girls around my age there (I’m 26).

Do you guys have any specific game plans that you use for this?

What really made me come on here and ask this was a situation I had today. There was this girl at the gym (very hot too) who made very strong eye contact with me multiple times, like practically begging me to come talk to her, but I just couldn’t bring myself to walk up and say something. I hoped that maybe I’d kind of “run into her” on the way out but even then I’m not sure if I could’ve done it. I’ve approached women in the past but it feels like my stamina for it is at an all time low right now, even though everything else about myself is an all time high. It’s also the fact that the gym is one of those higher pressure areas to approach, plenty of guys say they don’t do it period. Anyway, this situation makes me feel like shit and very regretful that I didn’t approach her, it probably really hurts my chances if I ever DO see her again and actually approach.
