When should you hug a girl?

It's good to hug to say hello or goodbye, and you want to establish that as normal as soon as you can. If you've been talking to someone for a while without breaking the touch barrier and then you suddenly do, it'll come off as artificial and awkward.

Whenever you feel like giving her a hug, but not when you feel like needing a hug. You must give, not take. And it must come from a genuine place inside you, rather than a forced act.

If I am in a social environment (party/bar) then I always hug girls on the greeting. In a professional one though (work, class, or even the gym) I don't, even the same girl who I would hug at the bar.

I always hug hello/goodbye. It's a good little nugget of kino.

I used to shake hands, and it didn't have the same effect.
