Be authentic. Compliment people on things you genuinely appreciate. Even better if you can tell that the person worked hard on whatever it is you're complimenting.

"Your eye make up makes you look exceptionally ravishing."

"Nice car, man. It looks like you really take care of it."

There should be an inverse relationship between the number of compliments used and the hotness level of the girl. With 10's, use almost no compliments. With 6's and 7's you can get away with using a bit more.

You can say anything you want if you maintain frame and speak confidently.

Don't worry about minutia like this. If you actually approach you are already doing better than 99% of the guys out there.

Compliments are fine as long as they're authentic, specific but not too extravagant. "You have really pretty eyelashes" vs. "You're cute"

I've had good success complimenting a woman's style. "I like your look, the way you put it all together. I get the sense you're a really creative person."

If before the approach I've already made eye contact with a girl 2-3 times and she holds it or smiles, I'll just say "I have a question for you. " [Her: What?] "Actually, I don't have a question, I just think you're cute and wanted to talk to you."

The problem is that if you go up to a random girl you've never talked to before and you're like "I like your shoes", sometimes it's really easy to tell that you're just looking to start a convo. It's like Mystery said: "I like your shoes." "No you don't, you're attracted to me." So if she's not that into you at first, that might be a problem.

Also, this is something that's bothered me for a while, and they mentioned it in Conquer Your Campus. "When do I execute a compliment..." Compliments aren't something to be executed. They're something to be given when the other person deserves it. Don't throw out a compliment for the sake of throwing out a compliment, the same reason why you wouldn't try to make a joke just to try and be funny.

I personally don't feel there's anything wrong with compliments, as long as you aren't showering her with affection or trying to flatter her into bed or something you should be fine.
