Why is it that I have way better luck with strangers than I do with people I’ve worked/gone to school with?

I for one also have success with strangers more often. I beleive it's because with strangers I don't have to worry about messing up my reputation/job. I know people say it takes a lot of courage to talk to strangers, but I personally think it's a hell of a lot more bold to ask out someone you know then have to live with the consequences of rejection.

The Holy Bible says "no one is a prophet in their own land". I think this is told for a reason.

We grow with certain beliefs -about the world and about ourselves-, which are strongly dependent on the context. We all have stages in which we are model builders( we are curious, we lcreate opinions, discussions), and stages in which we are model defender (we hold our positions).

Such a mindstate involves both onself and the surrounding people.

In a new situation sith stranger, both you and stranger are likely to be model builder. In a known situation with known people, both you and the others are likely to act as model defenders.

Your schoolmates will be likely to see you as they did see you at the highschool. No matter if in the meantime you became master of shibari or you climbed everest, coz your deepest emotional pattern are already hardwired.

You might change them. But it takes a lot of effort.

I happened to hit on some old friends of mine. To break into my past, I used social validation from the present: I went out with the NEW friends of mine which had the NEW perception of me. This overwrote some of the old pattern, and supported my inner game as well.

But without massive social validation, it would have been way too hard.

the cause of this is that they know you, for people you have gone to the same school with they most likely see you within the confines of how you act with your friends and cliques, and most likely and more importantly, the girl does not know what they want. they are still exploring what they like and as such, they very easily succumb to popular opinion of what the best type of boy is, and so until either you become that d1 football talent or she discovers what she likes and you fit within those parameters chances are you wont get with her

People you know for the most part already have fixed opinions and perceptions of you, and perception is reality in this case. They've already categorized you and take for granted that how they see you is how you always will be. New people give you a new opportunity to form different impressions.
