Just looking for some advice. Divorce was finalized this year, and I’ve got some straggling responsibilities I’m trying to wean out.

Primarily. I own a home that now houses myself, my ex father in law, and his son.

My home with mortgage and utilities comes out to around $1300 a month. The dilemma is I’m the only member currently working in the home, and paying out for the bills not including my other expenses.FIL is disabled and currently is unable to earn anything. And the son is frankly a waste of space. The housing situation accounts for a little more than a third of my income, and is in dire need to repairs.

My concern lies that my current employer is a 40 mi a day commute, in addition to picking up and returning my daughter during my days with her.

Slowly this house is draining me, and the only reason for keeping it is to house these two fools. Is it worth it to sell the house in our current market and downsize to an apartment far smaller just for convenience sake?
