You did the right thing. I found out (later) my ex secretly recorded me. I don’t think I said anything to get me in any trouble during one of our most intense conversations. In my state, recording without consent especially in a public coffee shop is legal so she was deceiving yet intelligent about where and how she recorded me. This behavior though is a huge violation of trust and shows she’s willing to go to extremes to trap us so be really careful. You’re at war.

I have been translating “I don’t want to take anything away from you” all wrong. What I’ve discovered it actually meant for the last 12 months is “I don’t want anything to change for ME” the minute I started asking about equitable but separate time with the kids and a supportive but actual fair and sane financial plan - I’m the worst person in the world and we have to have attorneys moving forward. And here we are in the shit.

Oh, c'mon, OP, don't start that nonsense here. It's bad enough when women do it. Every divorced woman out there was married to a "narcissist". The word has lost all meaning, and now, it's just a general insult.

Or, are you a Ph.D in psychology and you actually managed to diagnose your spouse with a major mental health disorder based SOLELY on the fact that you find yourself in the UNIQUE POSITION of being married to someone who is "behaving oddly"?
