Hi,

I'm entering the 14th month of divorce proceedings.

We had the Special Masters conference yesterday. They think that a judge will rule that my wife gets to stay in the house and I have to move out. I had a divorce 25 years ago. It was the same thing. Nothing changes. Why bother getting married when you can just find a woman you hate and buy her a house.

I'm 58 years old. I haven't thought much about my future mostly because my present is so gargantuan that it hasn't given me any headspace to think about anything else. When I do think about my future I can only think about the kind of woman that I DO NOT want to have a relationship with. Pretty good indication that I need more time, I know. I don't even know what a guy like me really does to start. I'll be a babe in the woods. I have never online dated and really don't know how to start. I get the impression that this is simply how it's done.

I have money. I'll need to decide whether to rent or buy. My career is not what it once was and health care costs are going to be high so I will probably have more money going out than coming in for awhile. My youngest is still 3 years away from going to college.

The Special Masters recommendations are non-binding and I'm just not done negotiating yet, so I can't really just "be me". Even after, if I have to move into a new place and go through that whole process it will be months - like 6 months - before I can actually be settled.

I'm lost and very anxious. I don't get anxious, but I am now.

I also don't really have any questions. I'm not even sure why I'm posting this. I guess I think maybe someone has something to say that will help.
