Yesterday was the year anniversary of our split. I was feeling okay until I found out I’d have get her to sign something to sell the house we’d bought together. It was transferred to me in the divorce but I’d made a small clerical error on the quitclaim deed so the escrow officer wanted her to sign something to verify the accuracy of everything.

The escrow officer offered to call her to explain the situation so I let her, and apparently my ex said, “it’s not my problem.”

Well, according to the divorce decree, it is her problem. I sent her 2 texts, an email, and $100 zelle transfer with a note explaining that it was to compénsate her for her time and expenses to travel to the office and sign the form. She never responded.

I texted the lawyer we used to draw up our divorce and explained the situation and asked if I should seek my own counsel to make this happen. We only used one lawyer for the divorce and I’m satisfied with the outcome.

She now works for him as a paralegal but he’d actually been pretty nice to me during the divorce and had texted me directly many times before.

I finally got an answer from her saying how inappropriate that was and that I’d “attract more flies with honey than shit.” Etc etc. Keep in mind that she’s threatened to talk to her lawyer every time something doesn’t go her way.

I wanted to respond with so many things but I didn’t. I realized that it just doesn’t matter anymore. I just want to move on and build the best life I can for myself and my son, and that is when you know the final string has come undone.
