What does it mean, exactly? Broadly, it means marrying or relationshitting with a man that doesn't "check all your boxes". The media leads us to think women have been picky over "superficial" things so we 86 men who have the wrong colored hair, weird mannerisms, or aren't gainfully employed, or men we aren't physically attracted to at first.

I propose that settling often means ignoring big red flags in order to achieve the "dream" of marriage and kids.

Red flags such as :

  1. No physical attraction. Too many women fall into this. Attraction can't be negotiated. If you marry someone you aren't attracted to, you are going into a dead bedroom. You might not care, but he will.
  2. Social awkwardness. You will end up embarrassed by him and resentful that you can't be proud of your husband and bring him places. 3 . LACK of gainful employment. This isn't someone that will be able to contirubt to a better future for you both.
  3. Poor hygiene. That kills attraction fast
  4. LACK of communication skills. Too many men can't communicate regardin relationship issues and instead get defensive, or just ignore the situation. You will end up feeling neglected and unheard.
  5. Mental illness. Mentally ill people make terrible partners unless they control it day in and day out. Men are terriblr.at doing this.

The point is that there is a difference between settling and ignoring Red flags. Often, there is not
