It very cute, for sure.

And also, lets not lose track of it that learning and performing basic life skills is not an indication of being HV. Its bare minimum survival skills.

All the same, I can appreciate this is one snapshot into someones life, and take it as him being a good example and not the defining factor this man is HV.

I have a 4 year old and my husband does 100% of the daily dishes, all the sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and all the yard work - unprompted and on time. He does a lot of this with our 4 year old and he is also the breadwinner.

I do NOT consider him high value for this (I married him before FDS existed). I think I would have thought this was a HVM characteristic had I seen pictures of him doing this before I had a kid, simply because the bar is so low to be considered an outstanding dad and partner and I definitely internalized this standard.

Then I became a mom in the last 4 years and talked with all my other middle class friends who married “good”, “Super hands on” and even feminist husbands who think they share the mental load. Hahahahha, how little we knew.
