Just saw it last night for the first time. Wow if you like body horror (and hate men) it's your movie.

Written, produced, and directed by a 48 year old woman who I guess has issues with aging? Perfectly understandable. Almost everybody goes through that. Her take though is it's the yucky mens who did it to her.

Dennis Quaid is the villain. He's a studio exec who thinks having a twenty-something star in their popular spandex aerobics show will yield higher ratings and ad revenue than their current 60 year old star (Demi Moore's age at the time).

Probably? Why did 47 year old showrunner of The Witcher Lauren Schmidt Hissrich replace female eye candy Henry Cavill with female eye candy Liam Hemsworth? (shh..it's ratings from lady gooners)

Hats off to Demi Moore for her performance and her courage sitting through many hours in the makeup chair for those silicone appliances which probably ate up a big chunk of the modest budget.

But I don't know what Dennis Quaid was thinking. This was his Human Centipede career moment. He's the villain you see, and since women's ENTIRE PROBLEM with getting older is caused by yucky misogynists, every second he's on screen is hard to watch or listen to. His dialog is like a parody of what feminist subreddits think all men (but the ones they're hooking up with at the moment), talk like whenever they're not around. He devours a plate of shrimp slurp slurp slurp while spewing facts about women getting older, and it's honestly grosser than the makeup effects later in the movie. I was trying to follow the plot but had to skip through that scene. The way it's shot too, zooming in on his wrinkly face (Quaid 69 yo at the time) as he slurps and drools and says mean words at Demi Moore.

What a typical /r/MensRights incel moid girls, amiright?? <== the author's inner monologue as she wrote it

Anyway watch it if you want. It might be a parody of feminism, but probably just a misandrist hate watch for feminists. Two and a half stars for being a well made entirely fucked up hate film (or possibly a parody) that disgusted and also baffled me.
