I work in a middle school that is 98% Black and the majority low-income. I will be leading a one-hour after-school program that quickly introduces the concept of gender before delving into a masculinity focus (the following after-school event will focus on femininity).

I'm wondering if any of you have ideas for leading this program. My vague goals are to send a positive message about embracing the multiplicity of male gender expression and to call attention to masculine tropes that are harmful or restrictive.

I'd also like to incorporate the trailer to the upcoming documentary, "The Mask You Live In" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc45-ptHMxo).
