Obscure discrimination--in NC, a man assaulting a woman is the most serious class of misdemeanor but a woman assaulting a man is the second-least-serious misdemeanor

I was going through North Carolina's criminal code looking for something tangentially related and saw this.

In NC, misdemeanors are ranked A1>1>2>3 and carry (max) sentences of 150/120/60/20 days in jail and fines of up to unlimited/unlimited/$1000/$200.

It's a pretty simple but clear example of explicit discrimination against men in the legal system. I figured that one or two of you might find a use for it.

Also in NC- Rape is defined specifically as Man on Woman. Woman on Man, Man on Man, Woman on Woman, all are only sexual assault at most

Blame men for that. They've made most of the laws.
