It seems like part of his argument is that evolution has made men and women each have a different set of concerns, and a psychology that reflects these concerns. Simply put (or, at tad over-simply put), women are concerned with family; men are concerned with society. There is more scope regarding society (or culture, or civilization) than there is for the close-knit, interpersonal relationship of familial relations.

So, men have gotten what they wanted, and women have gotten what they wanted. Only, because of the nature of women's concerns, their world hasn't progressed since the Stone Age. By contrast, the man's world is as if men are flying overhead in an airplane and coming upon savages in the jungle.

I realize this puts things much stronger than in the article, but is he something something different?
