So, recently I feel like there has been a lot of articles getting posted about archaic alimony laws and how badly some men are getting hurt by payments to their ex-wives.

This got me wondering why these men simply didn't get a prenup. But, would this have even helped?

I know prenuptial agreements can help stop a man or woman from taking half of all their partner's assets upon divorce. I assume it can also protect you from paying alimony that would be awarded by a court without a prenup. But could it also protect you from any laws that might require you to pay alimony? This is completely separate from child support, because I know nothing can sign that away.
