In Pato's case, he "only" has to pay for 24 months.

She got used to a certain lifestyle. No one can expect her to just go back to paying for her own stuff like she did less than a year ago.

But seriously, if a judge can make this decision then I think that both parties should be able to choose what judge they use. Or choose to use an arbitrator.
