pink tax and feminine napkins (kotex)

My impression is that a big part of the so called pink tax is about women's feminine napkins for when they're menstruating.

I'm old enough to remember the days before we had disposable baby diapers. We used cloth diapers that were washed and reused. That implies to me that back then there were also no disposable feminine napkins. So that part of the so called pink tax is really about the convenience of having disposable feminine napkins.
