Asking a question is reasonable, and perfectly a valid thing to do. I am not criticising or commenting on that in any way.

Linking the same from TBP while circlejerking/joking about "fighting battles" isn't. Regardless of how right you think you are, its pathetic.

In fact, I don't even buy the excuse it was a joke, considering the behaviour of all those involved in the actual thread. And the genuine and sincere bashing of a side who gave you reasonable debate throughout(in this thread, and as far as we saw, the last times too).

This thread featured one of the stupidest comment sections to hit PPD in recent memory. And I'm sure the mods can attest to how much shit-flinging they've deleted. I could literally count dozens of comments breaking rules. All of it heavily upvoted. And yes, still plenty of it remains. Full of baseless personal attacks, circlejerking, and when not full rule-breaks, just shitty arguments based on how things feel, rather than anything that's said. And when a debate goes badly, it becomes victimizing themselves(despite the vote brigade... pathetic), sarcasm, passive-aggressiveness, teleporting to a new topic you can attack the other side on and insulting someone outright.

I just want to remind people that everywhere else on reddit, the opportunity to bash RP exists. It still springs up time to time. For many RPers, you often can't post to reasonable popularity without having your posting history on RP brought up, talked about and ridiculed. TBP is a concentrated circlejerk machine for this very sentiment. We mind none of this, and accept it. We are worse than satan. We get it. It is drilled into us constantly. You do not need to remind us.

TRP, in contrast, insulates itself from this atmosphere and discusses its ideas among like minded people in a protected space. It enforces strictly defined rules(found on side-bar, and topmost sticky+comments) of debate and employs all manner of tools, straightforward and hidden, to keep the PC crowd out.

PPD though is unique in being the only place on the internet where there is a middle ground. And a free exchange of views. If you do not want that, please don't participate.

Do not feel compelled to take part just because you think you're right and you feel a distinct lack of the opposite party to rub it in the face of and ridicule.

Remember, RP's population is large, and mods there are very willing to bounce lurkers when they touch ground... PPD is the exact opposite. I would like it to have its efforts to remain that way not made needlessly difficult.

To those involved, please don't do it again.
