so let's take a lower class guy and a lower class girl. neither has much of a chance of "making it" in the sense that they'll be able to escape their circumstances. they both go to the same shitty school that they probably won't graduate from, they both get pressure to do drugs, both of their parents are in and out of work and surviving on disability... but the girl is raped by her mom's boyfriend and gets pregnant at 15. that's a distinct disadvantage that couldn't happen to our lower class boy. our lower class boy enlists in the marines to get out and learn some life skills. that's no longer an option for our lower class girl. she has no one trustworthy to leave her baby with and she certainly doesn't want it in her mother's house for obvious reasons. and even if our lower class boy had stuck around his home town, he can get manual labor or factory work more easily than our lower class girl can, which has the potential to injure him but pays better than the kind of jobs that she has available to her. so if he does not suffer a major injury he's again at an advantage... he's making more money than her convenience store or nursing home job and he doesn't have another mouth to feed.

I wish that was a more extreme example than it is, I based it on a high school friend of mine. my point is that there are still sex and gender disparities in privilege. will a middle class girl from a stable home run into issues like that? almost certainly not. because of her class privilege, a middle class girl is more privileged than our lower class guy... she doesn't have to put her life at risk in order to escape her circumstances, she can just go to college. I'd say middle class+ white girls are among the most privileged groups, whereas lower class girls are among the least.

The manosphere is doubling down on their hatred of women and want to make women accept being beaten down in the name of "equality" yet want to deny women the right to vote. I see many manosphere people celebrating a woman being beaten to a bloody pulp just for being emotional or saying something slightly insulting. So you can shove your bullshit where the sun don't shine. I'm reacting against your reaction. I can and will use the words "welcome to equality" against you if you use it to support beating women like many men in the manosphere do.

I hope more people will look at this in future for an example of a poor argument, one with more straw than man.

You have removed the context and then generously attributed very negative interpretations of something that is of legal concern: violence against men. Your assumption is that these men want to beat women to a bloody pulp just for women existing? That is a faulty premise to say the least. I have read the stuff on the men's rights subreddit, some sites and TRP. Nowhere do they advocate for abuse to the extent you suggest.

They do however feel it is unfair that women get away with hitting and hurting men but one touch from a man will have the state on him so fast, he'll be buried under the jail on an accusation alone. This would be like if a woman was gang raped but when she goes to the cops to defend herself, is accused of prostitution instead. Why do women feel it is okay to hurt men? Go look online at social experiments where men are abusive to women and watch how many people step in to help compared to when men are being hurt by women. Furthermore, does a man not have a right to defend himself when someone attacks him?

I have heard numerous times how hitting a woman is bad. That you should never raise a hand to her. Well how about some women show those guys who are bigger and stronger some respect? I saw a video of a school boy being bullied by a girl, she attacked him and after several warnings he flipped her over a desk and onto her ass. What you saw wasn't some men happy that she had been hurt but more that maybe, just maybe some women will learn some goddamn decency and consideration.

Women are no strangers to using the law to hurt men. They play the victim when it suits them. Recently one woman threatened an Uber driver that she would call the cops and say he raped her. Men don't get this luxury. He wad lucky that he had a camera recording everything and he stayed calm. This is part of the problem: she can be crazy, emotional, play the victim and a man dare not show his anger or how he feels because he will be in trouble. He had to go out of his way to seem as calm as possible so he wouldn't get into trouble. Without video footage, who would have believed him if he claimed it was false?

Whenever the manosphere highlights the 'welcome to equality' argument, it is a reminder that things are not equal. Women weaponise sex, can use violence and threats against men and hardly suffer any ill consequences for being really shitty towards someone else. In other words, if you want to be equal to a man by challenging him physically, don't be surprised if you get your ass handed to you. See, people are quick to demonise and want only the most hurtful things to happen to a woman beater. A man beater is given so much room for sympathy, they ask ehat he did to deserve it first! Why does no one ask what she did? Why is violence targeted his way okay?

Your argument is pretty poor in that it ignores the fact that there is serious inequality in the way we treat male and female victims of violence, especially intimate partnet violence. No one is saying beating a woman to a pulp randomly is okay. But if he is defending himself, she is going to get hurt. So next time you want to use the "welcome to equality" line, keep in mind the following:

Take note where that "bloody pulp" comment originated from. If you saw it on the manosphere they were most likely referencing to the bloody pulp comment from Dworkin. This shit didn't come out of thin air. Why is it more okay to be more violent towards men than women? Why is it when a woman wants to beat men to a bloody pulp, women, feminists and society is not concerned? Some guy in an internet forum is angry, highlighting perceived inequality and wants the violence against men to stop and somehow they are "doubling down" on their hatred of women? And then women are supposed to be attacked and hurt for being insulting or emotional? It seems like projection on your part.

The biggest concerns they have are about the perception of men. They don't want to be punished for daring to be men. They don't want male genital mutilation to go unnoticed. They don't want men to be discriminated against. They want society to give men a little more credit than writing them off as violent, woman hating rapists who have nothing better to do than victimise women.

Sorry find someone else. I've seen the manosphere. They want to take away women's right to vote and want to push them out of many places in the workplace so I say my reaction is self defense.

As for beating to a bloody pulp, many in today's manosphere think beating women is OK if they supposedly get out of line. I've seen people cheering on videos where women are beaten just for saying something the guy doesn't like or acting too emotional.

I very much doubt this.

I can pull up many many pages of things just as bad. I've seen people recently advocating for women going extinct too and artificial wombs taking over. So Please.

Feminists have openly celebrated the extinction of men via technology.

Well, to dismiss your absolute statement right off the bat, Feminists do address matters invoving men. That's just a few moments glancing through Google.

I don't know why some here seem so in love with absolute statements. Because they're so easily cracked. My thoughts are that you have no basis except for your own bias to tell you that no Feminist does something not in her own interests. So as a female supremacy movement, why would even one of them care about how men are portrayed in fiction, as an example?

Not to mention the simple conspiracy theory bunk. Do you really believe that a movement as broad and as unregulated as Feminism is 'cleverly' anything? A movement is as hard to herd in total as a room full of cats. Look at the disagreements of some RP folk on here with the theme of TRP. They don't follow just the same beliefs as others because all people look at issues differently. Even among the genders.

My advice? If you're going to try something like this, put in some effort. Because there is no effort in this post, demanding other people answer to something you give no evidence of save for your point of view.

Portrayals that reinforce the idea men are inherently bad at women’s stuff are primarily designed to pressure women into doing traditional female chores

But it’s important to remember that the real purpose of these portrayals is to help men escape responsibilities for the homes they live in and the children they father. It promotes the idea that we should tolerate irresponsible men instead of expecting all adults to sh are in the responsibilities they take on.

So, as usual, everything that happens to men is caused by other men. My guess it is a rouse to garner support from men. They will point to some tiny issue effecting men, write a long article explaining why everything that happens to men is caused by other men. And then go back to talking about how everything that happens to women is structural.
