One of the points TBP and TRP can't agree on is what kinds of women are attracted to dark triad traits.

According to TRP if some women are attracted to DT traits this means that this is just female nature and AWALT, but according to TBP if a woman is attracted to DT traits this means that she's most likely trashy or broken.

But we can also never agree on how many women are attracted to it. For TRP it's most women, for TBP it's just those women.

According to this the numbers are as follows:

21 percent of women aged 35 and older would rather take a chance with a bad boy than date someone slow and steady.

31 percent of women with children younger than 18 would take a chance with a bad boy (compared with 16 percent of women without children.)

And another one

In another study, participants who read dating apps in which people described themselves as altruistic (“I volunteer at the food bank”) were rated as more attractive short-term dates and long-term partners than those who didn’t mention such qualities. Other studies have similarly shown that women prefer men who are sensitive, confident and easy-going, and that very few (if any) women want to date a man who is aggressive or demanding. The picture that emerges is clear: when women rate hypothetical partners, they clearly prefer “nice” men.

Some studies have shown that having a nice personality can even affect impressions of a person’s physical attractiveness. Characteristics such as warmth, kindness, and basic decency are valued by both women and men – having them makes us more desirable partners, but also makes us appear more physically attractive.

So let's now look at some hypothesis for this attraction.

  • Like attracts like

No source needed because it's obvious, but liars are themselves more accepting of other liars and people with DT traits are more accepting of DT traits.

Therefore people that are okay with manipulation are either manipulators themselves or aren't smart enough to notice that they are getting manipulated.

Edit: adding source on narcissists

Interestingly, narcissists – who are generally disagreeable and harsh individuals – rated others who possessed narcissistic traits more positively than non-narcissists. Furthermore, a mediation analysis revealed that this effect of narcissism on ratings was mediated by narcissists’ self-reports of possessing the narcissistic traits. Thus, this study provides initial evidence that narcissists are more accepting of others’ narcissistic traits, and this study has implications for understanding the interpersonal and intrapersonal consequences of narcissism.

  • Being easily bored or having anxiety

Gilda Giebel speculated that people who are high in sensation seeking will think of non-DT men as boring and of DT men as exciting.

They tested this theory in surveys and found out that women that agree on sentences like “A very nice man is often boring", “I like it when the man takes on a leadership role in our relationship" and “I feel attracted to assertive men" have higher levels of disinhibition, tendency to seek new experiences and susceptibility to boredom.

This suggests that those who are easily bored and engage in impulsive behaviors may choose more dominant romantic partners. Such partners may provide excitement that keeps them stimulated.

The researchers also examined participants' overall levels of anxiety. In particular, the researchers hypothesized that women who were highly anxious might prefer dominant partners because of the protection that they offer, rather than because they’re sexy or exciting

Their results did reveal that there were two types of women who preferred dominant partners—those who displayed boredom susceptibility and disinhibition, and anxiety. These traits are totally uncorrelated to each other, providing evidence that these two types of women may have different motivations for seeking dominant partners. Anxious women appear to prefer dominant partners because they offer protection and security, while disinhibited, easily bored women seem to prefer dominant partners because they’re exciting.

  • high crime environment

Women who feel more at risk of crime prefer physically dominant partners

Previous research suggests that women who grow up in high-crime areas and perceive they are at risk of criminal victimisation find dominant men more appealing, perhaps because of the protection they can offer.

However, the University of Leicester team suggests that women who are attracted to dominant men generally feel more at risk of victimisation, even when their risk of victimisation is actually low.

  • Conclusion

TRP isn't as good at noticing trends as they think they are. They aren't even trying to objectively find trends; all they care about is cherry picking women that prove their preconceived notions correct while they hamster all the others away.

If you rely on TRP to become a dark triad edgelord alpha you increase your attraction to AWALT women while decreasing your chances with normal women.
