Hi just wanted to give y'all an update of the situation and how I'm handling it. (See last post for context)

He still doesn't understand why it upsets me because in his head they're just friends and I'm trying to control who he can be friends with. Even though that's not true, it's his reality at the moment. I can sit there and cry, get ill, let it ruin my weekend, be unpleasant and give him an ultimatum, and other negative stuff that won't work or I can lead by example. I told him I will always be uncomfortable with it, it will always make me sad, but I understand that she's an important part of his past and since its so important to him I'll find a way to deal with how I feel in a more productive manner but I need time to figure that out, so I've asked him not to bring it up.

Continuing to talk about it will do nothing but make us both miserable because he is strong about how he feels and so am I. We are both equal forces pushing each other and it's exhausting, one has to yield and in this case that's me.

I'm confident in my relationship with him and I'm confident as we grow together he will eventually give me the chance to fill the role that she has currently, which is a conduit to the past (not their relationship but just life and past friends etc). Eventually our past will be more important.
