My Captain of three years is an incredible man, and since the beginning of the relationship there have been very few bumps along the way. We are both professionals with high-stress/long-hours jobs, but have been able to enjoy our time off in a good balance of separate as well as together.

However, I find that lately his interest in spending time with me has diminished - we usually eat dinner together, at the very least, but he has been taking it at his computer most nights now. His sexual interest has plummeted. It all seems to be tied to the release of a new video game, which I have tried playing with him - I am not very good at video games, though, and while he will kindly laugh off (or blame one of his other friends for) my dying a lot or causing our group to fail a mission, he inevitably wants to do harder content without me, since I am dead weight.

I still cook dinner every night and make sure things stay tidy in the living space, but I am starting to feel kind of helpless. I broached the subject with him this weekend, and he stated that it's just a temporary thing until the stress at work calms down. It's been almost two months now, though, and I can't make myself stop worrying.

Has anyone else had trouble with a significant other losing interest in them in favor of a video game? What can I do?
