Hello ladies! I am / was studying mechanical engineering and I hit a wall. Became severely depressed, couldn't even look at a textbook and to be honest just question why am I even there. The problem is that I wasted 4 years for something I probably don't even want and I am having huge regrets just thinking about four wasted depressed years. I made a change and I switched to earth science / geology degree ( starting this semester ) but I am still not over mechanical engineering. I feel like I dissapointed everyone. My father said last year that he is expecting me to finish in 2 years and here I am droping out ! I still haven't officialy droped out from mech Eng so I am having second thoughts, but I am not even close finishing and that major makes me severely depressed so my mind is telling me it is better for me to start with a new major. The thing is my parents and basically where I am from base everything on degrees. Engineering, Medicine and dentistry are only worthy. Everyone else is a failure. How to get away from that mindset? Unfortunately subconsciously I still have some blue pill beliefs.
