A software developer for a video game company is a god on the internet, and a loser on the basketball court.

Well obviously it's being an engineer. They get mad pussy while in college/uni, so they're not beta at all.

But in all seriousness, the mainstream go-to professions are doctor/lawyer/banker/pilot. Despite the fact that those professions at the level most people practice it require minimal knowledge (note: it's all relative), people tend to see them as god-tier.

What I mean by requiring minimal knowledge is f.e.: A doctor always follows a flowchart based on the symptoms present, a pilot isn't even needed these days anymore as control systems technology has advanced to a point where a plane can lift off and land without anyone behind the wheel.

Despite that, people think those people are gods on earth, while the people behind the curtains that do the real work, in this case surgeons/specialists vs doctors, engineers vs pilots, etc...

It's all situational and relative. Perception is reality and while a person can be perceived to have high status in one situation, that may not hold true for all situations.

So the only profession that has high status in all situations would be "World Leader". Even the president / dictator in some bum fuck country would be raking in as much pussy as they wanted. Alpha status can not be denied to anyone with a military at their disposal.

i work in ib, and it's certainly less than an oh wow than doctor or lawyer.

the most common respons i used to get was aha or what, YOU? (i am a quant).

to not even risk falling in the beta bux category, i just say im a future teller.

id go with pilot. money and drowning in stewardess pussy.
