As far as I can tell, there seem to be two different types of "lesbians" (though I would guess you could have a mix of the two types):

Lesbians who, probably due to a greater amount of testosterone or some other hormone, are a lot more masculine/dominant than normal women. I think you usually see a lot of women athletes (WNBA, UFC, etc) in these groups, though it is by no means limited to athletes.

The other group is the situational lesbians.

These are the girls that identify as bi a lot of the time in their youth. For them, lesbianism seems to largely be related to SMV - they're girls that are unable to get commitment from men they feel they are worth (usually due to highly over-estimating their value), and the men that are attracted to them are typically men with bad social skills/other low status traits.

Faced with this, the relatively low SMV girl has a few options:

A) She can become promiscuous and offer her goods at a lower price than other competitors, thus temporarily attracting higher value suitors. This only increases her valuation in her own mind, while reducing it in the mind of the men she wants.

B) She can get in a relationship with a girl, who won't be physically dominant or have a very strong frame (though I hear that when you join a lesbian crowd, you're forced to act a certain way, so maybe they do, communally, have a strong frame), but at least she'll get it. She won't supplicate typically or bend over backwards, and the other girl will obviously understand Power Talk.

C) She can give up and utterly lock down on a beta for ownership. In younger girls, this seems to be mostly to show off her lapdog. Virtually every girl I've known that was:

Under 27
Married or engaged
No children (i.e. they didn't fuck up and get pregnant)
Not religious

Basically fell under the schema above.

I've seen all three, and I've seen all three in the same girl before. Usually in order of A, B, and then finally C, but the order can vary (ending in B is how you see a lot of fat, 40 year old lesbians) and not every low SMV girl will do all or even any of them.

To me, it sounds like this woman at least did B, and instead of giving up and going to C, she managed to find a guy that was above her standards.

Lesbian culture needs way more study, its an interesting sandbox of hypergamy and sexual dynamics. As a sub culture they joke about how they move around with each other so much (uhaul lesbian first date joke).

Men are mostly removed from it, there are more and more exceptions as the lesbian lifestyle is fading and being replaced with the norms of female sexual fluidity.

They are also, from my understanding, the highest percentage of domestic abuse out of any demographic. They are also the worst for deadbedrooms, it happens in almost every lesbian relationship.

I feel that is because most of them are adhering to an ideological life style over the desire to replicate the traditional dynamics.

This type of family dynamic is going to become more and more common. There are economical benefits to having 2 providers linked toba family unit, along with a care provider.

Who will pay for what will be the true mystery. The man will pay support for the children simply because he is the father. One of them states that legally they are not married so alimony and property may not be a thing. I feel like being a lesbian is a phase for women, something they all eventually grow out of (for the most part) once the threat of the wall becomes all too real.
