Reddit is forcing TLS for all traffic now:

Referrers disappear going from HTTPS to HTTP.

Clients SHOULD NOT include a Referer header field in a (non-secure) HTTP request if the referring page was transferred with a secure protocol.

Thing is- browsers should bypass this if the https site is using

<meta name="referrer" content="always">

Which reddit is doing. And you can see in my link, reddit is sending the referrer.

So why isn't it working in apache logs or wordpress logs?

Actually the problem with puearchy link is that Referrer headers are excluded when going HTTPS → HTTP.

Your link though you should have the header. Idk what’s up with wordpress, hate that software.

EDIT: Okay I might have been too quick to jump to conclusions here. Reddit actually includes the most liberal origin policy:

<meta name="referrer" content="always">

So at least newer browsers should send the full referrer header even if going secure→nonsecure. Must be Wordpress then.
