Intro

Pursuant to the current thread on overcoming social anxiety, where user Karleetoss commented that we should have a bucket list of challenges, I am making such a list. It will be incomplete to start, but I'll ask the community at large to add their ideas and input as we go, in the hopes that we can create an excellent tool for our members. Something more evolving than static.

Each of these Items contains an entry level challenge and a more difficult one. I hope to update this list later (or possibly create a second post) with a C suite level of challenges, executive status for those with the willpower to get there.

Post Body

Social

  • Go to the bar alone- did this just last weekend. Doesn't matter how poorly you do as long as you try, completely changes standard world interactions. This is easily scaleable too.

Level A: stay there for at least 30 mins or 3 conversations, whichever lasts longer.

    Level B: collect 10 names.

  • Cold approach women in the day and straight up ask for sex.- I have not done this, but I've watched youtube videos of attractive guys doing this and getting turned down/blown out. It is cringy asf. The point of this is not to get sex, but it is to reduce the AA in normal interactions. (DISCLIAMER, you should always be aware of your surroundings and context, as well as body language and other nonverbal communication. This may land you in some trouble with security guards etc.) EDIT: Due to the number of comments of folks here who can't envision themselves doing this with enough confidence that women won't run to the nearest Patriarchy Protector™ then instead of sex ask for a phone number. The whole idea is to do this without building rapport first.

Level A: Ask 5 strangers for sex/phone number.

Level B: Ask 15 strangers for sex/phone number.

Body

  • Lifting- Level A is basic, Level B should level you with enough muscle to really show.

Level A: 800lb club: Bench, Squat, and Deadlift 1 rep max add up to 800lbs

Level B: 1000lb Club: Same as 800lb club but with 1k total.

  • Running- Again Level A is basic, Level B puts you squarely in the realm of fitness.

Level A: Run a mile nonstop at a 10 minute pace or better.

Level B: Run 3.5 miles nonstop at a 10 minute/mile pace or better.

Eating

  • Content-

Level A: Cut out all soft drinks and foods with sugar as a main ingredient

Level B: Plan and cook every meal this week. Each meal should contain a non starch vegetable

  • Volume-

Level A: Do some research and figure out your TDEE. Count your calories every day for the week.

Level B: Set a caloric goal to match your fitness goals. Hit that goal every day this week.

Mind

  • Comprehension-

Level A: Read a fictional book for pleasure this week.

Level B: Read a non fiction book for self improvement this week.

  • Expression-

Level A: Write a poem, paint a painting, draw a drawing, write a song, or express yourself in a single complete artistic thought of some kind.

Level B: Pick a language and learn to express how your day went in writing.

Money

  • Budget

Level A: Track where all of your money is going this month

Level B: Write a budget for this month. Put 10% of your after tax pay for the month in savings.

  • Investing

Level A: Open an investment fund

Level B: Earn passive income not derived from the stock market (I.E. dividends and bonds etc. don't count)

Conclusion

I am really hopeful that some of you around with sharp minds can help shape this list up.

The first one of you lazy bums to PROVE to me that you've achieved Level B in every one of these categories I will personally send a well deserved six pack and a cigar. We'll figure something else if a little drink and smoke aren't your style. Each of these is a deeply branching area of self improvement and for some of you, some of these will already be old news. If that's the case, let me know, tell me how your personal goals exceed what's here.
