Let's say you're a golf fan. You go golfing every weekend with a friend you've known for 10 years. He's a great guy, and you usually get beers together afterward and shoot the breeze.

Now let's say the owner of the golf club comes to you one day after your buddy has left. He tells you that Tiger Woods was watching you and wants to meet you tomorrow and talk about golf, and maybe play 9 holes with you. Your buddy will be there too.

The next day you get a flat tire on the way to the course. Who are you more worried about not getting a chance to hang out with?

That's dread.

Uh, yeah. If you're not displaying higher value there's no dread. No one is afraid of "missing the boat" if the boat is a leaky, barnacled tub.

According to Rian Stone, on the sidebar youtube series for MMSLP, he stated that dread works even for lower ranked women. To paraphrase:

If a woman wants to keep you she will mate guard against women who send you signals of sexual availability even if they are fours and your woman is a six. Women mate guard by fucking you more.

The hard and fast answer is yes. However, there are some variables, boosters, or complexities in measuring ones SMV.

Resources (income or wealth), Physique, Intellect, Social Value and Availability to the opposite sex (musicians, gym trainers) are a few variables that impact the measure of SMV.

The best bet is to make your life better all around. Women will follow later.
