I understand that TRP is a reaction to feminism. I've done the sidebar reading and get why men's sexual strategy is the way it is. But whereas feminists would view TRP as having a double standard, I'm starting to wonder if the underlying problem is really just a question of "who shot first."

In other words, did feminism arise because of women wanting to imitate promiscuous men who went around sleeping with a bunch of women? Or did TRP arise because women became promiscuous and began sleeping around with a bunch of men?

In other words, I guess what I'm really asking is the age old question that feminists have always asked: why is it acceptable for men to sleep with a bunch of women, but it's unacceptable for women to sleep around with a bunch of men?

Forgive me if this has already been covered in the sidebar, but I guess I still don't quite understand it.
