Yes, it lowers your value. Only guys with a scarcity mentality do it because they’re afraid of losing her. It’s why they get jealous. They don’t have options.

All of this is sub-communicated. She’ll actually lose attraction because you’re not of high value and you can be toyed with emotionally instead of being her rock.

My suggestion is to forget about it and be a man women would be afraid to lose.

A woman with low confidence and self-esteem is more likely to brush off mate guarding. She'll feel secure knowing you're not willing to go anywhere. However, a woman who knows her value and has quality options will lose respect and attraction from mate guarding.

This is all processed on a subconscious level and learning the ability to avoid mate guarding should be applied to all relationships (family, friends, business) as it shows confidence, options and value.

It bothers you because you think she’s yours when she’s not. It’s just your turn.

Your anxiety stems from you faulty underlying beliefs - she’s not yours forever. Internalize and accept this fact. Be realistic and be okay with letting go.

In most circumstances mate guarding lowers your value, because if your women were all that into you, they'd mate guard themselves.

The sole exception to this is when they are not able to. Mate guarding them against a physical grab, or some such, is not only fine, it's required, as failure to do so shows cowardice.

It is a beta move. Life is a game of chess with many pieces. Other pieces will move in and try to take your girl. Your only weapon is your SMV and abundance mentality. It's not just a "willingness to walk away", it's also literally walking away. Your turn can be up at any time.

I dont know if it would be "beta" if you chained the guys door shut before setting fire to his house in the middle of the night. The next day telling her that you ended him and his entire family. But, short of that violent and extreme of a reaction, simply telling her to stop will not make her respect you.
