Also by asking "are you free"? You are forcing her to show availability to you. It's not bad but if you already created a lot of interest for her. In this case it let you in these waters because your question was probing rather than direct.

If you were direct in asking her out. Hey there's is cool place xxx I wanna go to. Thought it'd be fun. I'd like you to come. Just a random example. Then you'd get a yes or no. If it's a I'll let you know you can ask her let me know by when? And move on from there.

In this case you chose to be indirect. A better indirect way wouldve been start some random small conversation then ask what she's doing this weekend. And gone from there.

Anyway in this case. Let it go man. If she confronts about it. Just tell her it's no big deal and still cut contact all together unless you have to. If she doesn't confront about it just act like it never happened. Try to stay away from her as much as possible. Maybe if she pursues after that step you can take it further.
