I've been away from the club scene for over a decade. I'd chat up everyone in the club to warm up but usually just small talks. Not really connected to anyone or group. I'd approach a loner or 2-3 girl sets but usually conversation fell short and fizzling out.

Should I use clever openers or canned routine? I usually just came up to them asking where they're from, what are they in town for, something exciting happened to them or they're looking forward for this week. I usually in tourist spots or neighborhood.
