This morning, a girl I have a flirtatious friendship with initiated a conversation in the parking lot. She had a formals skirt on and was still putting on her heels, and I stood waiting for her while we chatted. She bent in to pick something out of the car, when she said

"[...] yeah, sorry if I'm flashing you and all."

she looks at me slyly and goes back

"but you probably don't mind it."

Now, in retrospect I think it could have been an invitation for more sexual flirting. But this morning, she really wasn't flashing me at all, and I had a little nagging thought in my head about how I've been in situations where girls have been leading me around, and not vice versa. I said:

"Nah, I actually do."

she pauses; this wasn't the expected answer.

"I don't believe that sort of thing should be accidental."

My thoughts were twofold: 1) I want to be different than the other guys she flirts with, and 2) I think I didn't want to fall into the trap of putting her on a pedestal. Granted, I should have said "I don't believe this thing should be accidental," putting her in the moment and making it more meaningful, but overall I think it was a solid response.

Is "Nah, I actually do mind being flashed — I don't believe that sort of thing should be accidental" a good response, or are there better ways to proceed/escalate?
