Was out at a club last night and my interest was sparked by this gorgeous girl dancing close to me, after spending what felt like forever psyching my bitch ass up I went over and complimented her on her dancing and the way her hair flowed (had really long hair) - after this I kinda went back to doing my own thing (I struggle to feel like I can keep a conversation in a noisy environment). Eventually noticed her walk off some time later to go down to the outdoor smokers area and I decided to follow her and struck up a conversation on the stairs down and told her I think she's gorgeous and asked if she goes dancing much. We ended up taking for awhile and turns out she's from Germany (one of my favourite places) and she's backpacking around. We talked about this for awhile and I got her name and we chatted for about 10 minutes or so before my friends wanted to leave the club - I feel like I could have gotten her number however she leaves my country in like a week so I didn't bother.

This felt pretty good though. I wanted to just strike up a conversation and approach and compliment this one particular girl all night and it ended up being quite simple

I've kinda deduced though that maybe club style environments may not be my ideal space for picking up. I feel way more confident in like book stores or even on trains and stuff. However due to how much more easy I feel it can be at clubs, I'd like to pursue getting better at it.

Just gotta get over that stupid internal voice that causes me to overanalyse the approach. I feel like a lot of the time after I was to approach a girl and compliment her or lead with something I'd just be stuck with things to follow up with and come off as disinteresting.
