I think people should learn by trial and error If we lived in a society which accepted the fact that people must make mistakes, if they are to learn anything, then I would agree with you. But American culture evolved out of Calvinism, it is a very unforgiving environment all around. It's actually ironic, considering Calvinism celebrates men, but no one openly celebrates men today. I think women can be really funny in a group setting. For example, all the female characters in Archer are hilarious. Someone else is writing their script, but they deliver it really well. I haven't watched Aisha Tyler's stand-up, it may still be on Netflix, so I'll let you judge for yourself. Otherwise, I agree that female stand-up comedians are generally not funny.

Not that I'm espousing New Age woo (I don't care if you think that's what I'm doing), but the AI people have yet to prove that consciousness is an emergent-phenomena. If they do prove it, awesome, we will have solved probably the greatest mystery known to humanity. If not, then we may not be able to develop AI that can produce "qualia" or conscious-experience, just really sophisticated deep-learning algorithms.

With regards to aging, there's actually a strong chance that we will have age-reversal treatments in the near future, especially if the FDA recognizes aging as a disease (Peter Thiel is being considered to head the FDA, he supports the SENS research foundation and other anti-aging projects). So regardless of what trajectory our culture takes, so long as we don't fall behind in technological advancement, aging will most likely be eliminated within our lifetime. There won't be any old people.

I am also yet to have a single male employee come to my office to give me dirt on a co-worker or share an awkward gossip-like story. My female employees though? Every. single. one. So gossip is habitual for them, they really do create drama where there is none. I thought for a long time that this was just a negative stereotype. I still wish to believe it's just a false stereotype. I wonder if it was because their boss was female, or perhaps they would have shared gossip with a male boss as well.
