Thank you - I have moved on. I have a wonderful girlfriend now who enjoys life as much as I do. We share our love of the outdoors, care of our elder parents and I have had a great supportive network of friends and divorce counseling.

Thank you! Actually after about a year into the divorce after spending time fishing, walking the beach and in divorce support group, I was gathering wood from peoples yards after storm damage as I am able to use in wood stove and fireplace in my home. It was great therapy an gave me something to do on weekends. Would haul it all to my house and started a great wood pile supply. Ex was always taking pictures of me I hauling wood and had no clue where I was getting it all!) I advertised at work an…

Restricted stock, also known as letter stock or restricted securities, is stock of a company that is not fully transferable (from the stock-issuing company to the person receiving the stock award) until certain conditions (restrictions) have been met. Upon satisfaction of those conditions, the stock is no longer restricted, and becomes transferable to the person holding the award. Restricted stock is often used as a form of employee compensation, in which case it typically becomes transferrable …

Divorced after filing May 2017 - divorce granted August 2019. My ex refused to pay anything - I continued to pay everything throughout the whole process- we went to trial and had to wait for decision from judge. We bought our own food and kept it separate from each other. This woman was so crazy I couldn’t trust her with food. She was very contentious and harassing to the point that I had to leave the home and rent elsewhere - and continued to pay for her to live there! They say not to leave the…

If it makes you feel better, I’ m just newly divorced man here 55 and got hit with $810.00 per week alimony payment for 12 years! She is moving out in 2 months! Best thing I got the house back with a 30 year refinanced mortgage though!

Vital statistics website is the way to go. That’s how I found the records to confirm my ex’s first marriage. Then found records from court website proving she was divorced from first marriage. I just got my divorce from her after 20 years marriage. Check neighboring states also. You can call town/city clerks to ask also if they have records.

She quit her job due to stress. She told the court I forced her to quit her job. Not true but it is what it is. She was getting a 20k annuity. I’m a well paid engineer. Go figure.

Yes - no children - she had a son from previous marriage who become a thorn in the marriage when he became a teenager and of driving age - so need I to say more? He is emancipated now and has gone to the state that his Dad lives in.

Yes speak to a lawyer and file for irritrievable breakdown of your marriage. Life is too short to spend another five years and then deciding to divorce then. You may regret in five years not filing earlier. A lawyer will help you in retaining assets that are rightfully yours.

Yes she does. Yes she knows this specific judge and she had some issues with her as far as the judge shutting her down at trial. We didn’t even do closing arguments. I plan on waiting it out. Thank you for your response.

The amount of alimony. Basically she quit a well earning job and reneged on saying she would contribute to marital expenses. She basically wants to stay in the house till she is told to get out and didn’t want to agree to anything - buyout from me or anything-even going after my sisters and Dads home and assets. This woman would take a penny off a dead mans eye! Judge said their money is off the table during end of trial conference with lawyers. But she is still asking for it all! Told the court…

Why does it seem to be this way for all of us men on here? Hang in there - don’t bend to her demands. They are just grabbing for all the gusto they can get and being intimidating.

I’m not staying at marital home and when I stopped by for mail she was not there but her vehicle was. Therefore since she spent last two winters in Florida before divorce filing I thought perhaps that is where she went. Her son is now living there so I thought she might have gone down to see him. It’s about time she reached out - on too many depression meds and medical marijuana.

Great post. Waiting for judgment as husband plaintiff here since August 18 2 day trial. So true that we need that close knit circle of go to friends who are there for us including a sibling who understands and supports what we are going through. Have a great support group facilitator who has been at every court date along with my sister. I always stayed one step ahead of her with getting things moving along with my lawyer and had all her deposition questions drafted up for my lawyer. She made a …

Wow! Same here - waiting for judgment since end of trial last August. I can’t wait till she leaves and I can reclaim my place. She has been living in home and I had to seek shelter elsewhere and both the judge and my lawyer knows that but she does not have exclusive occupancy.

Sounds just like my soon to be ex wife. I have brought a friend when I closed the pool. She constantly harassed me when I went to the marital home. Now I go in the wee hours of the morning before work when I need something and she is still sleeping. I am staying elsewhere till judgment.

Be professional in court. Hope she don’t get a bully of a lady attorney like my STBXW has. Plus we have a woman judge. I also have a woman attorney. She was great but since we went to trial because my STBX would not negotiate or agree to anything we will have to see what judge decides. Document everything. Stay one step ahead of her in all paper filings. Don’t engage in her games. Keep your lawyer informed of her actions and what she is asking for. In other words get all your financials in order…

The car is marital property since it was brought into the marriage. You should be entitled to the use of it. You would have to have your lawyer file a motion in court if she refuses to let you use it and let the judge know what your STBX is doing.

Wish you the best! I filed after twenty years when she quit her job and thought I was going to take care of her, leave money for her loser son, buy her a condo in Florida after I let her spend two winters there and went down to wine and dine her each month, continue taking her on expensive vacations, maintain the pool fo her etc. and she threatened to get part of my sisters and dads house and their assets. Wow... unbelievable same here. No word from the woman judge yet either. I gave mine 75k as an advance as she said she needed to pay attorney fee and was running out of money. She is now sending me cable bill via email and I can’t get into account as she changed password so I can’t pay it and I’m not staying at house but haven’t moved out. Ok thanks that sounds like they are probably basing the judgment time like mine so when you turn in the final papers - 90 days accounting for your half day. My judge wanted the final documents delivered one month after 2 day trial which ended in August and emphasized she did not want them mailed in so attorneys delivered them on September 17 so puts me on track for a judgment at least by December or sooner. Reason I’m anxious is I want my STBX out of the house as she is acting like a squatter no…

Congrats! By the way did you have a trial and how long did the divorce take? I’m going through it now and it’s been a living hell - just finished two day trial this month and going to deliver proposed judgement to judge next month. I hope it’s over soon - been one year and almost four months. We are still in marital home although I’ve been lucky enough to have a friend let me use their in-law apt as my wife creates a toxic environment. I just go home to do laundry and clean the pool once a week …

Best to you today. That’s a lot to cover in one day. May not resolve everything but your most important ones will be emphasized. I have been through the mill with the courts / no kids just a greedy gold digging wife who won’t settle.

Thanks for the response. It is great to get the feedback from someone who has been through the process. I am getting the marital home and will be buying her out. It’s actually a proposed judgment saying how I would like the judge to rule on items we can’t agree on. Yes we couldn’t come to a settlement - we sent numerous settlements over and she refused all of them. That’s why the trial happened. Thing is she may wind up with less than she was asking 🤗 Yes the day we each got back from court I to…

Well it looks like the judge has made her decision already. Second day involved wife’s testimony and she was very elusive - paused at each question and was looking to the judge every time my attorney tried to cross examine. Almost every question was objected to by opposing counsel and sustained. My attorney was clearly disgusted and upset. Wife says I want the Corvette. Judge responds I know your angry but I can see right through people and I will not award you something that is clearly an asset…
/r/Divorce_Men07/08/18 11:25 PM

Yes I am prepared as I am very confident that my wife’s testimony and the difficulty she has caused me to make my life as miserable as possible will show the judge the living hell that has been my marriage. Just got the closing statement draft from my attorney and it clearly states all I did to make my marriage work.

We will see what happens in court tomorrow. I left the house because sure enough she took her phone and started recording me and I showed her my phone and then she starts saying she will call police. I am staying at a family friends house overnight.

Thanks! It’s my wife’s attorney who’s convincing my STBX to grab for all the gusto she can get. I think my ex is in the drivers seat and will be the one to cave either before or on trial day. Still can’t believe she wants share of dads/sisters house. I will fight that all the way. In the meantime will enjoy the weekend visiting friends at camp. STBX is staying somewhere else probably till we are pronounced ex-man and ex-wife✍️. Discovery is over so her crazy paparazzi work is done📷.

Positively rational. My lawyer, my Dads lawyer who drew up hid life estate and my sisters lawyer all say this woman needs to be reined in. One lawyer has not seen demands like hers in 30 years of practice!
/r/Divorce_Men10/07/18 12:09 PM

No it doesn't guarantee anything about her keeping it. It only would grant her to live there till the divorce is over if it goes through. You could also turn around and file a motion also if you wish to remain in the home. I filed a vacate order against my STBXW and she turned around and filed one against me. The judge allowed us both to stay in the home as long as the police were not involved. If you want to keep your home after divorce it's best that you try to stay in it.

My wife is asking 919.00 a week. I feel your pain. We have a trial date in two weeks and two days. Dad and sister attending as witnesses. My wife is wacked. Saying I premeditated this divorce. She accused me of hiding assets and I gave this woman everything!!!

Yes have had a lawyer from the beginning as I filed first. I bought home with my own premarital earnings not inheritance. She has agreed to let me buy her out of home but we are still in disagreement over alimony. Will hopefully be doing some conteroffering for the next couple of weeks to try and prevent from going to trial on the 27th of July - at least hoping to settle on my part.

I was married in 1996. House came into play as my wife went snooping on line and found out that there was a change in title on the house in 2015 around the same time we were going to marriage counseling. Basically my dad changing it to life estate after my mom passed away in 2015 and I agreed to take my name off and leave the house to sister after Dad passes. Wife says it’s pre-meditated divorce.

Yes I was on the deed with my family father, mother and sister in 1991 when it was bought. Wifes attorney filed a motion for the appraisal against me even though I was longer on the deed. My sisters attorney said he would not allow it. it since the motion was filed against me I was the one to appear in court with my attorney for the hearing. Wife’s attorney filed it because I refused to allow it as I am not on the deed and bother my dad and sister had refused. That’s why the motion was filed and…

No problem your response whether your a man or woman is appreciated. It was a machine at the airport that they use for drug detection. And yes she has been doing yard work - bringing in her own firewood in the winter and groceries from the car.

Im using local small town woman attorney instead of a big law firm in city. Better communication less contact with paralegals and be sure to look them up on line. Some may even have you tube videos explaining their practice etc. You are right the other side cannot use an attorney you have consulted with. If you feel it’s time to move on don’t wait you will or may regret it / wish I had done my divorce 5 years ago. Coming up to trial in four weeks or a settlement. Been in this nightmare for a yea…

Thank you for reading and the encouragement. Yes she does have issues - thinks she is entitled. No she is not disabled nor on disability just claims that she has issues with her neck, back from an old automobile accident injury. She quit her well paid job as a buyer for a government contractor after 10 years always complaining to family and friends how stressed she was about her job. She turned around and told her bully of a woman lawyer that I forced her to quit her job and that I said I would …

Well I sent back the fact that I need to know how they came up with alimony figure and using those calculations it comes up with $42 more per week than what she is asking claiming she will need medical and dental after divorce is final and she won’t covered under my work plan. Also said I want to offset the alimony payment by bringing it down and giving her additional money from the 401k that I really don’t care about as it’s not doing as well as my current work one. She’s letting me keep corvet…

She was added to the deed five years into the marriage. We did not refinance jointly. She had never once paid the mortgage. I feel I have a good evidence to support myself at trial for keeping the home. I sure hope the judge sees her as a squatter now.

That’s just so abusive. Going through the same myself. Document everything and notify your attorney that she is threatening and unstable. You might be able to file a motion with the court to get her vacated.

My wife was not open to any mediation from the beginning. We have been in divorce proceedings since May of last year. It has come done to the point of no return and the judge will have to decide next month. Wife’s behavior and accusations and closing of joint bank accounts because I did not do a joint will for her will only implicate her in the end plus she went out and spent 20k after being served divorce papers on household goods and 3.000 on medical marijuana.

I hear you - and mine is always complaining about how much this is costing us especially if it ends up in trial which the date is already set for Next month on July 27.

Thank you! Good advice. Wife dug herself into a hole at her deposition. Said she deliberately transferred our joint accounts into her name only and would only put my name back on the day that I give her a joint will supposedly in both our names with leaving the amount of money she wants me to leave to her financially irresponsible loser son which I disagreed with. Yes we did start a will through an attorney but even she said no one does it jointly anymore and she was incompetent. Wife wasn’t hap…

Thank you. Yes she is relentless. Now filed a motion to get the house where my dad and sister lives and which once had my name on it appraised. That’s June 6 and also we have a court date that day so judge can see where we stand and that’s of course no agreement. Trial is set for July 27!

Nothing legal about the pool just one insane wife! Deposition went well. Brother’s attorney told my attorney she is one greedy lady. My attorney told my brother’s attorney that my Dad simply wanted to protect his assets by having brothers name removed from accounts as he could see divorce coming down the road. His wife will be depositioned on Thursday. That will be interesting to hear from my brother how that goes.

Sisters attorney says he believes judge will not stop deposition. He will review documents and see what can be submitted and what can be left out. He will attend to prevent her from being bullied and also my attorney will attend.

Back in August of 2017 at temporary orders hearing judge ordered us to have a court ordered appraisal meaning we had to use the appraiser they assigned. She came out and gave us a report later and we also had to pay. I had my lawyer attend because I didn’t want drama from wife. She went crazy staging the house of course to get the highest appraisal but they go by comparable properties in area. Court gets results and we agreed on appraisal amount.

Thanks! Also deposition on the 5th for me at her attorneys office. Of course she wants to see if I lie about me forcing her to quit her job. She did so voluntarily with my agreement. Boy do I have some good questions for her on her deposition day which will be in early May.

Agree with all that is said - better now then myself going through a divorce with a woman with similar traits after 20 years. I too am a successful engineer and am hoping the order to vacate hearing that I had my attorney file will be honored by the judge scheduled for April 11.

Thanks for prompt response! Sincerely appreciate it. Yes we had court ordered appraisal back in September and we both agreed on amount. Also when I refinanced the bank used the same appraiser to take pictures just to cover themselves. I explained to the same appraisal lady that I was buying out and she told my wife that she needed additional pictures as first ones had some blurry ones. So wife had no other idea why they were there. Only thing is bank wants final agreement or stipulation to relea…

20 years, no children, one son from her previous marriage who had a lot to do with breakup of marriage, ADD, dropped out of colleges, dismissed from boot camp, multiple girlfriends, freeloading etc. He’s 27 now and gone to live with biological Dad in Florida. She had an 85k job which she quit due to stress and says I forced her to quit. She stopped contributing to bills etc. I’m an engineering manager and pay for mortgage and all bills now and she is just wanting to sit around and continue video…

Yes but she definitely is not interested in keeping the house. She cannot afford it as she is unemployed and has no intention of returning to work. Her plan is to just stay in the house as long as she can and just feels that she does not want to stay in a small apartment while I get to enjoy the house. It is not a healthy environment as she is just harassing me, recording, taking pictures of me doing work around the house and stalking me. Like I said that is why my attorney and I filed the order…
