I'm so sorry you have that too!

This is 100%, not only for men but abusers in general. My nmum always does this. She'll be ultra fake sweet voice and push my boundaries and then when I get fed up and tell her to stop she gets all "I never said or did anything" 🙄 they do it so they can walk over your boundaries and you'll be scared to react next time.

As an Asian woman, this is accurate. You are expected to take care of elders and your own family. While the men do what they please. It's truly misogynistic.

Hmmm I wouldn't say free as they are "semi separated"(wtf is semi separated, you're either together or not. This is just fwb style crap) "because of his work" (note how he always puts his importance and work above her work) and she was even staying in the same room as him in a hotel. I think this is just him trying to escape reality with her when he feels like it, but still keeping her when he wants her for sex etc. She's just a toy for him 🤷‍♀️ and now she's stuck with him for 18 years.

Alex is a spoilt man child! Love rock climbing and think he's talented, but dislike him as a person. The whole time I watched that movie I just hated how he treated his girlfriend :(

Yes! You can tell from the way sex goes. They don't want to choke you, act out these rediculous kinks and are just into you and sex with you. And no not every man NEEEEEEDDDSSSS porn to live. Only porn addicts do 🤷‍♀️

And the best bit is that you CAN find men that meet your standards. This bullshit that you have to lower your standards to find a man is just rhat, bullshit. You can SETTLE for a shitty low quality man that will end up treating you like crap or you can wait, enjoy your life and find someone that ADDS to your life. I don't know why that's so radical and incel????? And man hating???? We don't hate all men, we hate men that treat us like crap 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Hahaha men are less drama is the biggest LOAD OF BS I'VE HEARD. I work almost exclusively with men and I can tell you they are MORE DRAMA. It's different to the women drama but I guarantee you any pick me that say that is LYING. My girlfriend at work and I (the only female project managers in our department) always discuss the near constant DRAMA these men cause and the lying/back stabbing/bitching that goes on. Take it from me, I dislike working with men so much because of the drama. In fact, h…

Yep, heard it all before. I've worked in many jobs where I was the only woman engineer, with only men. When there's only 1 woman and they forget you're there, they'll happily talk shit about the girls they sleep with, and other misogynistic crap etc. It's truly disgusting.

I think this is an underrated comment! I actually agree with what you're saying, yes you can do the above that you mentioned but we do also have to realise the deep reasons why you're doing it. Yes I wear makeup cos it makes my skin look nicer and eyes pop, but I have to know it's coming from a place of doing it to look attractive for both women and men. Freedom of choice for women is not feminist by nature. Which is what we have against pick me's who say that we're bashing on women's abilities …

I would say as a woman of South Asian heritage, it could be that we are taught to sacrifice ourselves for everyone else. And to make ourselves as small as possible. We are taught women are to cook, clean, please and make our parents and the men in our lives happy. I know, because that used to be me and I still see it a lot in a South Indian colleague. As for what to do, I'd say take yourself out for dates by yourself and enjoy doing things alone. When you enjoy your own company and are confident…

Yeah that's odd, but I do know some women just have people around as "friends" for the sake of it. More the merrier type. It really is! As an adult it's harder to make good friends I find. What are your hobbies/interests? I've made friends in dance classes, a leadership course etc. Maybe try meet ups or a social sports or craft if that's what you're interested in?
/r/askFDS18/05/21 12:56 AM
12

To be honest, not sure. I may be cynical but if it's guys maybe to sleep with you or could be out of boredom and just to do something. I have no idea as I love having good conversations with people 😅 but it's so much work talking to some!
/r/askFDS18/05/21 12:45 AM
37

Complete silence- not bothered enough to make conversation. Asking heaps of questions but not answering - trying to learn about you and your weaknesses while remaining mysterious and not sharing anything about themselves. Talk all about themselves only-self absorbed and narcissistic. Either way they're toxic and you should not continue to hang out with them. Friends or men, don't waste your time on low value people.
/r/askFDS18/05/21 12:25 AM

This is the first thing I thought of! People want you to be as miserable as them.

Yep! My mum is in the camp of "oh but the kids they don't deserve to be in a broken home." I told her "kids aren't stupid they know when something isn't working" . She said "I know you mean dad and I when we fight and argue". Your kids will respect you more if you leave, rather than pretending everything is OK.

I have an nmum too! And she's the same, since she believes I'm an extension of her and she lives through me she loves to put her word in about who I date (among other things). I'm exerting my boundaries but they will never change not self reflect! I know it's not for our sake as almost everything they do is self serving.

This is so true!! The only time my life changed was when I stopped chasing men or attention and started finding myself. Finding new hobbies, working on your career, spending time by yourself or with friwnds/family, building your wealth. Then you will be happy enough by yourself and with yourself that you won't need to be defined by a man. You can set high standards and maybe you might meet a man. But if you don't you'll be happy anyways as having a man doesn't define you :) this group is about b…

Ladies, thank you so much for the reminder. This is 100% excellent advice. I will keep an eye out and make sure we maintain separate friends throughout the relationship. The isolation is a big problem with abusers and I think it happens to lots of women unfortunately. I'm glad you've found your tribe of wonderful women!

Congratulations on getting into grad school!! 👏What an achievement! You should be so proud of yourself, you're levelling up like a boss :) it's really hard cos society has conditioned us to feel pressured to settle down and get married/have kids. But there's so much time in your life for that. Spend these years focusing on you and your career, and the rest will fall in place. Find out who you really are and what you love, save and learn how to manage your finances/set yourself up for success :) …

You're a kind person and you mean well. I have mentioned that to her but she's pretty set in her relationship. I might recommend this sub and recommended readings instead and that might help her see the light

Thanks for the advice, it's really good especially if people change their lives and circles to suit the other person or have mutual friends. Thankfully we do have separate friends and lives, but we've just met each others friends and may hang out once in a while. Though I wouldn't say we have the same friend groups, so if something were to happen we'd just not see the other persons friends which to be honest would be fine as we have completely different circles and no mutual friends.

Haha why not both??? A nice wedding/rings and a house cos you both saved while younger, are financially stable and can afford both. It's so trash to shame other people's wants just cos you're unable to provide 💅 I just went to the beautiful wedding of a friend who bought a house with her husband before the wedding and still had a gorgeous wedding! They aren't even super wealthy, just normal careers

It's so funny how they say "I'm a boobs guy" "I'm an ass guy" "I'm attracted mostly to x woman", we're just attracted to bigger d's 😂😂😂 they love getting to choose the hottest women but making us settle with scraps when we say we have preferences for attractive men, not basement dwellers.

As a fellow lady of south Asian heritage I totally agree! My cousin got forced to have an arranged marriage and he was the OPPOSITE of her. She was so attractive, lively, bubbly and fun and he was not that great looking, boring and quiet. They got separated on the down low but before that she had a relationship with an American guy her parents didn't approve of. It's so sad and horrible. My parents know not to bother me with one as I'm so headstrong I'd rather be single than be in an arranged ma…

Also I enjoy true crime and have noticed a lot of sex workers get murdered and many serial killer victims have been sex workers. The saddest part is most of the victims have been forced by circumstances such as poverty or some other reason and people don't realise they are missing. Their killers don't always get caught :( why anyone would think sex work is empowering is beyond me.

He's either in some shit (mental illness, issues at work, in life, court related matters, stuff with ex's) that's making him unavailable, can't handle life/ dating or not into you. But really the reason why doesn't matter, you dodged a bullet before getting too involved. Block and delete (and probably thank your lucky stars! Haha)

Why do men think we never get rejected???? Everyone gets rejected if someone doesn't like them, it doesn't matter what gender. And then goes onto say women don't handle it well when men do... My friend told me a story of how she was STALKED after breaking up with a guy. And til today she still gets worried about him.

Yes I agree with this, my partner has met my narc, psychotic, abusive mum and knows she's crazy. But I can imagine if he never met her he may not understand as much. If you are in contact with them yes, show them. If you're NC then it's best to tell them and back it up with old texts etc maybe?

That's awesome!! I've been doing it for maybe 2 years with a break due to injury of 6-8 months. I do indoor only so far but keen to move outdoors now that we can lead. I find with leading I'm like definitely a few grades lower 😂 I absolutely love it though :) Oh canyoning is cool, I've never done it! I think I'd only do it guided as I'm scared of enclosures etc. You sound like a lot of fun!

No way!! Haha in my culture especially it's supposed to be like that but I'm a disappointment in that while I can cook I don't willingly do it and I'm not a home keeper either! It's just not who I am. Don't feel bad, do what makes you happy. You don't need to fit the mould :) plus so many easy options now it's not necessary

i'M nOt LiKe tHE OtHer gIrLS. Gosh I hate this, and also how all the other girls are dumb and HATE reading. None of this is true, being rude is subjective too. Like enforcing boundaries and standards to some people can seem rude. Why do they need to tear down and belittle other women for not being quiet like them. It's OK to be quiet, it's OK to be loud. What's not OK is thinking you're better BECAUSE you're quiet. Lots of women like to read, lots of women are badass (not a fan of the b word) be…

You can go to classes, but what I did was learn off YouTube, pintrest, books, and even udemy courses (a lot cheaper than a real life class). Give those a try :) Maybe even just pick up some basic supplies, a beginner set is nice and easy. Or just some paints specific paper for the type of painting and some brushes :) hope that helps

Hi, wow well done for ridding yours of a LVM in Queen style! I wish I was as smart as you, but I'll keep your idea in mind if I ever get fucked over by a LVM. The amount of deflection from him is incredible. Would you mind pm'ing me what you found on his phone and what he admitted to? Wow men are pathetic, yoga pants, shorts and other gym attire is for COMFORT while exercising. You cannot do all the moves you want to with loose I'll fitting pants and sometimes a crop is comfortable for some women. Men think the world revolves around them and cannot fathom the idea that they we rarely think about them. Plus we go to the gym to get fit and exercise, not "tease" them.

If you personally don't want to get married then that's perfectly fine as long as it's what you want :) I guess it would be just protecting yourself, having your own finances and finding a partnership with the right person. It's mostly about not being left in a vulnerable position and not getting your needs met. If you want a partnership and there's a legal way to do that like in many countries, then it would be a guy dragging his feet to make that official as opposed to getting married or somet…

Yes, thank you what an amazing post! As a woman of Indian origin, I have always been turned off Indian men. I am with a Caucasian man who does not have these beliefs. My mother still tries to get me too cook etc (forgetting I lived alone in this counfor like 4 years before moving back with her so I'm fully capable of looking after myself and keeping tidy). Wait so, the posts are MADE by women and not men. How are they so oppressed??? If they want to, just bloody post!!!! Not really hard imo. They clearly don't want to post and just want attention. This is what happens if you don't deal with your issues from abusive relationships, you constantly victimise yourself even when you're not.

I thought the same thing haha to be honest back in my pick me days, I used to open a lot and try to read their profiles etc. Still got ignored a lot/low effort conversations, so really it doesn't matter if who opens if I guy or girl wants to talk to you they will. I do believe a man should open with a quality opener and start a conversation. Too many lazy men.

Hahaha "independent" yeah girl that ain't it, independent means she can pay for herself and relies on NO ONE ELSE (mother included). When I was 14 I had a job, as my parents were sick of me asking for money (to help teach life skills etc), as did many of my friends. that's what her mum should've done instead of patting herself on the back for teaching her to go 50/50, help her get a job and manage money. She's 14 she should be learning, growing and focusing on a future. Not dating! Call me old s…

Not a man, but every single point is my narcissistic abusive mother. She is so toxic, so if a man is doing it to you definitely leave as he's abusing you. I'm learning to cope and grey rock my toxic mother.

Congrats! You've come a long way, it's really impressive that you've not only owned up to it but forgiven yourself and dropped the baggage. It's really hard but it's so worthwhile, I feel I can really grow and move on as a person as I'm sure you can too. I was in a similar situation ship and finally came to my senses.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/09/20 04:32 AM

This is accurate, it gets to a point where if you allow or facilitate it, it is your fault. My psych literally told me, yes these men are shit but it's your fault for allowing them to do this to you. You need to set boundaries and respect yourself. And that kicked me into action on changing my life and dating. It worked! Be accountable and acknowledge if you allow this to happen, yes some guys are shit but if you let it happen and not shut it down it's on you.

Like they think we expect high class expensive restaurants, yes it's nice but not always! I've had a lot of good food first dates and most of them are in midrange places. My current SO took me to a beautiful Cafe for brunch and bought me a great meal I wanted and an expensive coffee cos I loved that kind of coffee, it wasn't even that expensive at the end of the day. If it went not so great we could quickly eat and leave (or even just order coffee instead of a meal), not a huge deal that you nee…

Probably to break their self-esteem down so they think they aren't good enough to date someone that looks better than them. They're ugly and want to get with hotter women.

Being very honest this is what I think and my previous experience. I didn't want to get pounced on as there will be people who don't agree and have the "best guy friend's" or whatever. But I actually totally agree that all of them probably want go fuck you.

Welcome to the sub! Yes, FDS is also about levelling up (the sister sub is for that), self love/respect, friendship/acquaintance/family relationships, hyping each other up and so much more! That's what I love about this place :) I come from a similar family background so understand what you're saying about men and relationships. Definitely focus on you first, you sound mature and responsible. You'll go far 💕

The best way is find your own value! See what you like about yourself/your life and use that to see your value. For example: if you have a hobby you're good at, if you have a job you love or are good at, you saved some money, you take care of your body via eating or exercise, you take care of your skin, you volunteer, etc.. Can be anything, not only about looks. Take stock of your life and what you have/do, and if you find you want to do more of something or be more just find a way to improve it…

Yes, I 100% agree. I had a LADY DOCTOR tell me mum it was all in my head and I should see a psychiatrist. Lucky my mum never believed her. It took me like 3 doctors to finally diagnose me with PCOS, even though I literally got my period every 6-8 months if I was lucky and had all the classic symptoms.

Same, your response is pretty much spot on. I didn't read the whole article cos I was so mad at it. I don't see why men in relationships should stare at other women, they have their own to look at. This is low value behaviour and should not be encouraged. I feel instead of blaming BiOlOgY, it's more the societal standards that men follow and why they are controlled by their eyes and dicks. It's cos of articles that preach how it's normal and anyone who stops them is wrong.

This was like me, but the difference is I made the mistake of standing at the back (after being ushered to participate). I was trying to hang at the back hanging with another girl and the bouquet comes hurtling at my face. Other girls were really trying to grab it, but I was just standing there. And out of instinct, caught it 😩😱 the look on my face was mortified!!!! 😂 They have it on camera it was amazing. To make matters worse, I was there with my boyfriend and everyone but me was so happy 😂
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/08/20 12:21 AM

You're 100% correct, unfortunately I got HSV-2 during my pick me days 😭 but that was the start of me respecting myself and leveling up! Ladies, please don't be like me! I'll say it hasn't ruined my life actually (aside from physical pain and discomfort) and the right people can respect you. But it's not fun (can also happen in relationships etc so it's not really only a "slutty" STD but there's a higher risk from hook ups, steer clear from them).
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/08/20 04:21 AM

And he's still so lazy and making her choose a place pretending he's interested in what she likes! Men like this will pretend but are always low effort. You're 100% right in just block and delete

I know it's really hard :( the people in this group me included have all struggled with it. Do you have friends, family or hobbies to focus on? If you can focus on yourself it might help redirect your energy and thoughts. That's what I've found best
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/08/20 11:30 PM
7

No way!! He was using you, good on you for standing up for yourself. Keep setting those boundaries and be proud you put your foot down no matter what anyone else says! You were right to tell him you wanted him to do more stuff around the house, how he reacted is on him. It's hard, but don't blame yourself, there's nothing you could've done

My mum brought up a good point about this, she may not have even consented to it if the guards have access to rooms. I'm not trying to be controversial or anything and not saying he did, but you never really know. It's just an abuse of power proving men cannot be trusted. That stupid guard just ruined it for the whole country.

Omg this is great research and work, you're amazing! Very interesting, definitely agree with you. Especially having a background from one of the bottom countries. I never thought of it like this, you're always taught to make a marriage work and that being divorced is the worst thing ever. Love it!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/08/20 02:38 AM

Well, think of it this way when it's going well it will be fine but what happens if it goes bad? If it affects your career or image then you have to deal with the consequences and you have no one else bit to blame yourself. I personally do not think it's a HVW thing to do. If you're interested in finding someone in your field you can do that at industry events, online or other ways of meeting them but ensuring you don't work with them. Like people say, don't shit where you eat. I've also heard w…

Yeah, an old colleague bought his gf a beautiful black stone ring to propose to her with. I know it wasn't cheap as we were talking about it before he proposed, and it was gorgeous!! She's super edgy and it suits her a lot more than a diamond but didn't compromise on the actual ring or quality! There are a few online stores that do alternatives to diamonds that look nice and cost a bit depending on what you get

Of course my Indian mum hated all of the girls on the show! 😂😂😂 I mean she hated some of the guys too, but I thought it was good that the last girl was like "stuff trying to find a guy, I'm going to focus on my successful fashion career" and she was like meh I didn't like her. The sexism and misogyny is so deeply rooted in this culture that even the women are a part of it!!!!

Yes it is, dtich him. If he's not putting in the effort to talk to you now then he will never. The only circumstance where it's OK is if he's working or something but it's usually courteous to say "hey I'm busy today I won't be texting a lot".

Hey, it's great you're here early on in your life :) first of all, forget Boys right now. Dating should be low on your priority list as you will only get LVMs. Most of us, me included, have all been where you are LVFs and in toxic relationships. This is what helped me and what 8 suggest you try before worrying about men, once you are happy in yourself and your life the rest will come together. And I KNOW you can be a HVF, you're still so young and don't best yourself up for past mistakes :) My f…

As soon as he says "hang out and video games" an hour away it should be a block and delete, don't give him ideas and reasons. When you did he gave an even lower value answer. You're just wasting your time, but it did show that he was low value. I think unless you've been talking for less than a day or he's looking for a lazy catch up, meeting early on isn't a bad thing (not during COVID though). Rather then getting invested and realise he's playing you after a few weeks.

When I was single, I kept busy with fun hobbies and things I enjoyed (I personally love arts and crafts, rock climbing, gym, dancing, diving etc), met up with friends and groups, a lot of self care and reflection and of course my career. When you have things to do that you enjoy you don't really need to be with anyone else. If I was travelling alone or just wanted to eat out by myself, I'd have a good book or magazine and eat and read! I even got compliments from people saying how cool it was th…

Yeah you're both authentic to who you are and you both sound like fun, it's great that women are different to each other it makes the world interesting and better. Men are the only ones that really make it all about them and are truly lazy.

Second this, don't cancel last min on ANYONE, friends, family, dates etc. Anyone. It's super rude and I've had friends do it to me and it sucks, especially when you've kept that time open and cannot do anything else. It really hurt my feelings and affected my friendship with her to be honest.

Another general one I loved was The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck, really funny but it helps you determine what's truly important in life and not. Which definitely helped me with anxiety, stress and perfectionism.

Unfortunately, by staying and putting her child in direct harm by this man AGAIN some of the blame does belong with her. If she cannot stand up for herself and her child, next time there may be a death or serious injury to her or the poor child and it will be too late for her to get help. The child deserves a mother that cares and protects him/her, not just try to save a relationship. Also, at some point we also have responsibility for our actions, instead of blaming everyone else. If you LET pe…

I don't understand it?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/07/20 02:24 PM

You have the right idea. I had the same problem, no matter what I wear you can still tell I'm busty and petite. I try not to emphasise it too much as it just attracts LVM. I use my travel photos that are flattering, but not explicitly showing it off. Anyone who mentions my body immediately I ignore, but it really reduces the LVM that are thirsty by having less cleavage photos.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/07/20 04:38 AM

Aaaannnnnnddd this is why I don't date brown guys 🙄 so many are LVM

I agree with everyone else here, he won't be emotionally available and he's letting you know with all these hints about being on call, needing space for a few days and his grandfather. Do you really want to be with someone this flakey/emotionally not available? When someone shows you their not interested just accept it and don't make excuses it's only been 2 dates. Block and delete.

Thank you I needed this today ❤️ had a terrible experience with a toxic job I was on boarding for yesterday and just feel like if I took it instead of being unemployed it would be better. But I hated the prospect and was only using it as a stopgap til I find something better. I'm still unlearning my work pick me habits haha

Wow this resonates so much with me as my mum does the same "jokes" about me. But I'm still learning how to do the calm thing and not the angry outbursts. I'm doing coaching and seeing a psychologist, so hopefully I can be like you soon :) That's really impressive and you sound so much happier! Good on you, it's a lot of hard work but an amazing end result :)

Second this advice for the date it's absolutely spot on. Also its wayyyy too early to call him a HVM as you know nothing about him and LVM can be charming and great at the start. To be a HVW, just make sure you're being you, focusing on your future/hobbies/life and confident in yourself. It's less about what to do to be a HVW, but more about how you are. And never worry about whether he likes you, the right person will like you for who you are. Don't change yourself for someone else. Remember th…

I skimmed through this, but please find somewhere safe to stay and dump him. He is so toxic!! Not only is he lying to you about his ex many times but he's pushing your boundaries, getting violent and angry. You need to block him and focus on you. There are so many red flags there. I know it's complicated because of work, but for your safety please leave him and maybe even seek help from family and friends or a councillor if you can afford it. Sending love your way

While I do agree that your boyfriend is being dishonest and the relationship is unhealthy. as someone of a similar background I urge you to have boundaries with your father and parents. I don't think it's right for your parents to have a say in who you decide to be with, it's your decision even if the religions are different. Your dad is using this to control you, the way any LVM would. He has overstepped the boundaries by visiting his house etc. Investigating is for YOU to do not your father. J…

To counter your argument that he hasn't introduced any gf to his parents. My HVM hadn't either but they knew about me after it was official and I met them a few months in. You need to assess how committed this guy is to you, you're living together but you haven't met his parents?? Take the advice here and search for new apartments, learn to be self sufficient and ask him directly. Or even better just leave, if a guy isn't ready to introduce you to his family at 6 months he doesn't see you as his…

I agree with this poster and just want to add, I just went on a FEW Days hiking trip with my bf and his friends. We're really solid, but this trip was hard for me and I've done multi day hikes both with groups and with my bf. My bf was caring and shared my load but still the weight and fatigue is crazy. I know he always looks after me, as we did a group hike together somewhere I knew I'd be safe if something happened between my bf and I. He was nothing but amazing. but with someone new you just …

The thing is, to be able to grow and not be a constant victim women also have to take responsibility for their actions. It's what I had to do when I was a LVW and now I accept that I was a door mat, when i realised that I finally learnt to become HV. Any woman who goes after a man who is taken is LV, so is the man both are to blame if they both know. This whole women have no responsibility thought is not really right and it's not tearing women down just to mention something abut someone's behavi…

If a guy has to ask, no. When I'm dating him officially for a while then I'll consider paying for some things occasionally. But this guy seems like a loser if he's asking to split and for you to pay this early on. You've not been dating long and he should be trying to impress you. You can do a lot better and you deserve to be impressed and have dates planned for you. If he's putting no effort in now, imagine how he'll be later on after you're together. My man put a lot of effort into impressing …

It's never going to change and he's full of shit. Just dump and block him, no point wasting your time and energy on him. Sort out your plan for leaving if you live together etc. You deserve so much better, don't forget that. The right guy will only have eyes for you and no one else.

For my last lameass stupid pick me situationship, the last straw was 2 days after being in a car accident and broken arm/messed up knee (my newly official HWM helped and supported me every step of the way) and feuding with my LVW friend over it. I then got annoyed at his bitching about "women are the worst, my ex was the worst poor little me" and saying "you're the one that harassed her and stalked her, if you accepted breaking up you'd be fine. He was like" i don't feel like meeting up for coff…

He already showed her he doesn't respect her, what will articulating her boundaries do?? Nothing. She just needs to leave him straight out. Read the FDS handbook as I'm sure it talks about keeping your boundaries quiet and seeing how they respond. You're only allowing him to lie better and hide it if you tell him what you don't like.

She's also tearing women down for not fixing their man a plate and for being single, how is that ok??? I don't see that in your comment.... 🤷‍♀️

Yes, as an Asian I've encountered many men that find me exotic or only date people from my specific culture. It's gross.

I think you can do better than this guy, he already doesn't want to be exclusive with you and you want exclusivity. Dont bother responding or giving him any ultimatum as he knows what you want and still disrespects that. He will most likely pressure you into sleeping with him over the weekend or on the trip. You can definitely find someone who will want to be exclusive with you and not need ultimatums, hold out for them :) forget about this loser

Yes, get some help and I don't see the point of posting here if all you do is argue with everyone about how "high value" your man is and how he loves you so much. This is not the group for you, neither your behaviour nor your bf's are high value. If you're not interested in levelling up then why waste everyone's time arguing the same point over and over. Get some professional help please and stop posting here unless you're serious about FDS and changing. Cos none of what you're doing is FDS.

Yeah exactly, she has so much drama going on. A bit too much. I know it seems mean and you're an awesome friend for caring so much. But you also have to put yourself and your needs first, any true friend would respect that. You're so compassionate and kind, thinking of others :) just remember to give yourself the love and support to ❤️ keep working on you and the rest will fall in place x

It really depends on the situation and the people. But most of the time it's better to walk away. I'm trying really hard to just walk away and let things go instead of confronting, as it just leads to backlash and negative energy. If it's really disrespectful then you may want to confront, otherwise if you can let it go for your own sanity it may be better

Your response is correct and mature, definitely the right approach. What you say is 100% correct about the excuses she's using and why it's better to just block him. Definitely stand your ground, but at the end it's up to her to make the decision. It's awesome to see your advice for her, 100% FDS.

You sound like you're working on yourself at the moment. I think it's time to take some time away from her and just focus on you and your journey. The way she is behaving upsets you and it sounds like as a friend she doesn't bring any value into your life. It's going to sound harsh but for your mental well-being I would advise you to cut contact with her. Sending love your way, you deserve a better friend that will love and support you!

You can just block his number and not feel bad. You've never met and don't owe him anything. I doubt he'll try to contact you through his friends, but at least he won't be able to contact you via phone. I think it's the safest way :)

I can imagine!! That sounds full on, especially all at one. Sounds like you did an awesome job though! This! You will enjoy so much food! And the family will welcome you :) family is quite big in these cultures. If you become serious and a family members has a wedding god! They're so much fun!! And if either of the families have problems with a mixed relationship or one of your backgrounds, I suggest leaving it out of your relationship if you and your bf don't feel the same way as them. Some people can be so narrow minded!

It's actually related to her career, as she's talking about being respected in the industry. Not about a breakup or an ex, read the lyrics properly and don't just assume.

Dont message him, block and delete him. Find a hobby or something fun to do! Or message a friend or family member instead :) keep yourself busy and focus on yourself and your life goals/career, that way you'll be busy and it helps you become independent.

Yeah i feel that, small doses is best and they do love/care about us. They really don't know how it affects us and don't want to listen. They think either parents are OTT or do not love or care at all they don't see the middle ground. Unfortunately medium contact is what's best for us. I'm sorry I replied late and I hope you're doing OK, I hope you get the support and love you need xx

Yes, I did hypnotherapy for a little while and she taught me about affirmations. I've come across it a few times with my psych/career coach and there really are benefits. I personally found it worked wonders to just have those words in the forefront of my mind I used ones like: -I am good at my job -I am worthy -I am lovable -I am good enough -I am fit and healthy -I am kind and caring -I am strong Etc. These were tailored for me and my needs but still seem common. A good way is to literally tur…

Not necessarily, there are plenty of not so great women leaders and excellent men that are leaders and the converse for each gender. Good leadership has nothing to do with gender and anyone can be a good or bad leader. Examples: in Australia the well known cruise ship disaster had a woman as the leader and some of the male leaders of other states did a fantastic job with the pandemic. I think it's problematic to associate gender with leadership abilities.

I love stories like these! I had a car accident (broke my arm, lost a close friend and had a knee injury) 2.5 months into dating my boyfriend after making it official. He took me out the weekend after, cared for me, helped me when I couldn't do things, loved and supported me throughout. It's seriously so amazing when a man does this, my friend ditched me (total NVW which I didn't realise til after) but he stayed. We've been dating for over a year now, but it's truly so amazing as no LVM I've dat…

Yes, being a desi girl living with an abusive narc mother who sounds like yours try to move out of you can afford it. I lived out of home for a few years and it was amazing! I had to move home due to a job loss but it's hell! Try to give yourself some space from them and you're better off without your NVM ex! Good luck, sending love to you

Honestly it sounds like you need a fresh start from all of this. He's a total loser that was so rude and mean to you, you're so much better off. And your friends don't really sound like friends if they're still around him. You're so young! Go enjoy college! Build your career and make a new life, make some new friends and don't look back :)

Don't date and instead work on building yourself up, building your relationships with people in your life, doing hobbies and things you like or wanted to try, practice selfcare! There's no point dating now when you can't interact properly with anyone and with the risk of spreading the virus. Also, LVM may affect your mental health more now. Use this time as a break and time for you and your loved ones. Then when it's over you can jump back in again.

I met my HV boyfriend of 1 year on bumble, But he was rare and I had to wade through many many LVM to find him. It's possible but keep your standards high and focus more on yourself.

Delete his number and any other contact details /socials. That will stop you from having any way to contact him. And find a hobby or something to keep your mind off him and make you feel empowered and more confident (eg. Working out, online dance class, arts/crafts, read, Netflix shows etc)

I agree with the other commenter, men that have or had issues with ex's and other baggage are never worth it. They just drag it all into the new relationship and cannot move on. Don't waste your time you deserve better x

Hi, my mother is a narcissist and has emotionally and sometimes physically abused me my whole life. I was such a low self-esteem pick me and due to a history of sexual assault allowed men to use me and treat me like crap. With the help of my psych, I have been able to pick myself up, realise my worth and try to manage my nmum. I still have trouble with her but to have a healthy relationship you need to work on yourself first and building a solid foundation of confidence and self-esteem.
