Conditions I saw in the article:

the man was married to the mother when the child was conceived or born.

a man attempted to marry the mother, whether the marriage was legal or not does not matter, if the child was conceived or born during this time he is the presumed father.

the man married the mother after the conception or birth and has his name on the birth certificate.

a man had welcomed a child into his relationship and home and chose to call the child his own.

1 should only apply if 'I agree to provide paternity support for all children my wife gives birth to regardless of their genetic paternity' is part of the marriage clause.

2 is just stupid and not worth addressing.

3 is basically two different situations so I don't know why it's addressed as a single point. Marrying a woman after conception should be the same as condition 1: only if the marriage contract includes an agreement to care for her children regardless of their paternity.

As for the second issue of 3, being that men are not obligated to sign the birth certificate, it seems okay, but I don't like it. I think it's too easy to forge or trick someone into signing a birth certificate without understanding the consequences. I think that men should only owe child support to a child (REGARDLESS of the genetic paternity) if they sign a contract explicitly stating that thing.

No, just no. Something as important as paternity agreements should rely on written contracts, not verbal ones. Those are too easy to fake and lie about.

This is being done so that the woman is not a burden on the state. Somebody has to pay (not the woman mind you) it's either a man or the government or both.

God no... God damn no, anyone who didn't help in bringing that child into the world should not be legally or financially responsible for it, that's just called being sane, anyone who would think it right for a single mother to basically lay claim to child support from anyone simply because she 'needs' the money is simply wrong! If a woman is cheating on her husband and gets pregnant with another mans child, why should he be punished for her wrong doings?

Don't get me wrong, as with anything i can understand exceptions, adoptions (legal ones, NOT for example when a man moves in with a single mother).
