Ignore sexual, and just consider the word objectification.

Wikipedia has:

Instrumentality – if the thing is treated as a tool for one's own purposes; Denial of autonomy – if the thing is treated as if lacking in agency or self-determination; Inertness – if the thing is treated as if lacking in agency; Ownership – if the thing is treated as if owned by another; Fungibility – if the thing is treated as if interchangeable; Violability – if the thing is treated as if permissible to damage or destroy; denial of subjectivity – if the thing is treated as if there is no need to show concern for the 'object's' feelings and experiences.

By this definition, a job is objectification. All business transactions where services are rendered is objectification. All of humanity, men no less than women, has constantly been objectified throughout history. The most objectified people would be the tax payers who have to finance the professors who spout their objectification bigotry.

You're making quite a few mental leaps here. Namely:

1: That the only ones (Or even largely the ones) complaining about sexual objectification are people with gender studies degrees.

2: That they didn't pursue these degrees for reasons related to sexual discrimination, isn't it likely that gender studies would attract people with a personal history related to those studies?

3: That a persons worth is what they can offer to society.

4: That society has put forward any resources (More than any other average person at least), such that it can expect more out of them than the average person. I will concede that it's made much easier for women to get an education by some governments, and you could argue that society could expect some sort of worth out of what it put in.

I think you're pretty off base on the whole, and probably trolling.

It's not really sexual objectification, it's more like sexual ... verification.

Anything that they do is useful and good just because they are a woman.

I don't really see that as the objectification paradox. Girlwriteswhat sums it up quite nicely here.

My take on it is that women who freak out about this stuff are really reacting poorly to a cognitive dissonance in their own minds. They want, everyone wants really, to be valued as a highly attractive sexual object in the eyes of others. It is the ultimate success of the natural selection game, and it is rooted very deeply in all creatures. It is a very good thing to be seen as appealing and treated accordingly.

These girls want very badly to be both viewed as sexy and alluring, and they want all the benefits that come with it, but they don't want anyone pointing it out because they feel that it takes away from their achievements and status. Then they blame men for the objectifying world we live in, which I find quite silly. If they don't want to be objectified, then they don't need to buy into the whole cosmetic worldview. Yet many, if not most of these prominent feminists who rail against patriarchy and preach how men oppress women do so wearing expensive heels, jewelry, makeup and form fitting attire.

If you look at what those degrees offer in terms of learning instead of money (I know - god forbid I suggest one goes to college solely to learn), they aren't worthless. I'd love to minor in gender studies, but I'm too busy with my major at the moment.
